Real Madrid have sealed a Copa del Rey title for the first time since 2014 as they beat Osasuna 2-1 in the 2023 final at the Estadio de La Cartuja.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side picked up their first major trophy of the season, ahead of a midweek Champions League semmifinal against Manchester City, with a battling showing against Osasuna.

Rodrygo Goes’ quickfire opener looked to set Los Blancos up for a dominant night in Andalucia but they were pushed hard by Jagoba Arrasate’s underdogs.

Lucas Torro’s second half thunderbolt deservedly forced Osasuna back into the contest, before Rodrygo kept his calm once again inside the box, to ease Real Madrid over the line.

Arsenal have opened the scoring in their huge Champions League match with FC Porto as the Gunners level the tie at 1-1.

Mikel Arteta’s team needed to score first having been 1-0 down from the first leg and a second would have made life very difficult for the North London club to progress.

That came just before halftime when some beautiful footwork from Martin Odegaard led to the Norweigan playing in Leandro Trossard.

The Belgian star remained composed and finished clinically as Arsenal will now turn up the heat in search of a second.
