” I want to play for Arsenal”- Luiz Henrique could be a Mudryk alternative
“I want to play for Arsenal”- Luiz Henrique could be a Mudryk alternative
Arsenal looked set to secure their main transfer target Mykhailo Mudryk before Chelsea hijacked the deal by offering Shakhtar Donetsk their £88.5m asking price, so Mikel Arteta must now to turn to Plan B instead.
Arteta deserves respect for not giving into the Ukrainian club’s outrageous demands, but missing out on the winger will be a big blow, especially as the Gunners were looking to bolster their attacking options in order to give themselves the best chance possible to win their first Premier League title since 2004.
Arteta might just have an alternative up his sleeve, though. Arsenal have been linked with a move for Real Betis winger Luiz Henrique according to reports in Spain, although they face competition from Manchester United, who are also tracking the player.
Henrique mainly operates on the right wing but he can play on the left flank when required and is the same age as Mudryk.
He still has five years left on his current contract, so any potential move will likely cost a big transfer fee; and with CIES Football Observatory valuing the winger at €35m (£31m), Arteta may need to splash the cash to sign him.
Henrique joined the La Liga club from Fluminense last summer, having registered 27 goal contributions in 118 matches with the Brazilian giants, and he has settled into life at Betis with ease.
The 22-year-old has been particularly impressive in the Europa League this season, scoring two goals and setting up another two across his six matches while making one key passes and averaging 2.3 shots per game in proving that he offers an effective threat from out wide (Sofascore).
He might not be Arteta’s number one target, but there is every chance that Henrique could go all the way to the top, and the best way for Arsenal to move on from the Mudryk near-miss is to land an exciting winger of their own.

Arsenal were 1-0 winners at Brentford as Aaron Ramsdale responded to being controversially dropped by Mikel Arteta.
Reiss Nelson’s eighth-minute goal separated the sides despite a Brentford onslaught after the break.

Arteta has preferred David Raya to Ramsdale in goal for the past three games.
But the England international was needed for the Gunners to progress as he produced a brilliant stop to deny Yoane Wissa an equaliser.

JUST IN: £40m Bayern Munich superstar have finally snub London rival to agree personal terms with Arsenal, medical to hold very soon as Arteta plan starting starting him next game
Arsenal are interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard following a long-term injury for Jurrien Timber, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Gunners recently suffered a huge setback with Timber suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury and he could be sidelined for most of the current season.
As a result, the club are looking to fill the void with a new signing, and Gazzetta claim that they are interested in securing the services of Pavard from Bayern.
Inter Milan and Manchester United are also in the running to sign the World Cup winner, but the Gunners could have an advantage over the duo in the pursuit.
Bayern are prepared to sell the 27-year-old for €30 million plus €5m in add-ons. Inter are currently reluctant to pay more than €25m for the Frenchman.
United, on the other hand, are completely reliant on Harry Maguire’s departure to sign Pavard. Maguire recently turned down a move to West Ham United.
Pavard could make the switch to Arsenal
Pavard has less than 11 months remaining on his Bayern contract. He has made his intention clear to leave the club and has no plans of penning a renewal.
Bayern are likely to cash in on him before the transfer deadline or else they could lose him on a free transfer. He can sign a pre-contract from January onwards.
In our view, the Frenchman would be a quality acquisition for Arsenal to fill Timber’s void.
Last season, he completed 67 passes per game in Bundesliga with an accuracy of 90 per cent. He won 2.3 tackles and five duels per appearance with 2.5 clearances.
He would fit perfectly into the plans of manager Mikel Arteta. For €30m up front, he would represent a good piece of investment as he is in the prime of his career.
Pavard can comfortably play in central defence or at right-back.

JUST IN: Arsenal have just renewed their interest to sign Kylian Mbappe on a Long term deal, first proposal sent this morning as Arteta wants to convince the player to join
The latest news from reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests that Arsenal target Kylian Mbappe does not have a future at Paris Saint-Germain.
Reports have linked Arsenal with the French striker and other reports have also suggested that Real Madrid are also interested.
The 24 year-old talisman has a contract until the summer of 2024, and recent reports suggested that he was not keen to sign a new deal at PSG.
If this is true, then PSG would either have to risk losing him on a free transfer next season or they would have to sell him this summer. Romano’s latest update suggests that PSG have made their decision.
Arsenal target Mbappe now available this summer
The ‘phenomenal‘ player is no doubt one of the best forwards on the planet. The fact that is have now been put up for sale is huge news this summer.
Romano’s first update which broke last night said: “Understand PSG consider Mbappé FOR SALE.
Paris Saint-Germain feel Kylian Mbappé wants to leave for free in 2024 — he did not communicate anything yet despite Al Khelaifi’s public statement. PSG decided to EXCLUDE Kylian from Japan tournée.”
He then added more context to the situation as he said: “More on Mbappé. PSG feel betrayed as they’re certain Kylian has already agreed a free transfer with Real Madrid.
This despite Mbappé in interviews said he’d never leave PSG for free. Paris don’t want to be ‘paralysed’ by the demands of one player.”
This is a huge update and it will be really interesting to see how Mbappe reacts. He cannot be sidelined for a season and wait for a free transfer. This would ruin his growth.
It could be the perfect time for Arsenal to make a move, should they want to take their interest further this summer transfer window.
This may now be a lot harder as the club have already made multiple signings. This would have no doubt taken a large chunk out of their transfer budget. It may see Mbappe be unaffordable at this current time.
With him also excluded from the PSG pre-season tour, it looks like his club want this situation resolved as quickly as possible.
