Arsenal fans demand Brentford game is replayed after TWO controversial offside calls for equaliser.
Arsenal fans are demanding their game against Brentford is replayed over a controversial offside call up for the visitor’s leveller.
The league dropped points for the second consecutive games, following up the 1-0 defeat to Everton with a 1-1 draw at the Emirates.
Leandro Trossard opened his account for the Gunners after coming off the bench but Ivan Toney bagged a late equaliser for the Bees.
It was a messy goal in the end, with Toney heading home after a set-piece situation where Brentford were able to keep the ball alive.
However, there were two different potential offside incidents checked by VAR in the build-up to the goal.
The first involved Ethan Pinnick, who purposely stood in an offside position. He did not touch the ball but Arsenal felt he block Gabriel Magalhaes and allow Toney to get a shot in.
Then, they argued that Christian Norgaard had just strayed off when he squared for Toney. Lee Mason, previously relieved of his duties for two errors earlier in the campaign, was on VAR duty.
But despite the checks taking place, the goal stood and Arsenal’s lead at the top of the table could be cut to three points if Manchester City beat Aston Villa on Sunday.
Gunners supporters are utterly livid with the goal and took to social media to vent.
One wrote: “Arsenal needs to appeal and request a replay. When the title is so close, Brentford players were offside twice!”
A second said: “Blatant offside for Brentford’s goal but yeah no surprise every decision goes against Arsenal.”
A third added: “Dermot Gallagher says the Brentford goal was offside, the commentator said likewise. Arsenal robbed again.”
A fourth commented: “Arsenal need to require an investigation on who was controlling the VAR decisions in this game. There were TWO clear and obvious offsides in the Brentford goal and they decided to ignore them BOTH.”
A fifth fumed: “No pen at Newcastle, no pen at Everton, offside goal for Brentford. Call me crazy but the refs are actually against us”.
Mikel Arteta was absolutely furious after the game and revealed the club will be writing to the Premier League, having taken issue with the two calls.
“I’ve looked back at the goal and it was offside,” he said post-match.
“You have to apply certain principles in defending set-pieces and you do that by sticking to the rules.
“But apparently they were not applied and if you suddenly change those rules you tell us before the game so you don’t defend with the line so high.
“We apply what the referee tells us every single week before the game – that if the blockers are offside then it will be ruled out.
“I also think their player was offside when he crossed the ball. I was hoping that the cameras and visuals would pick that up because it looks like there were two actions.”
Arsenal have arguably the biggest game of the season on Wednesday when they welcome defending champions City to the Emirates.

Trade Rumors: Garrett Wilson To Ask Out Of New York Jets Says
Trade Rumors: Garrett Wilson To Ask Out Of New York Jets Says
Garrett Wilson, wide receiver for the New York Jets, apparently wants out as per an NFL insider. Wilson and the Jets are currently third in the AFC East after winning four games and losing ten this season.
In their most recent matchup, the Jets played the Jacksonville Jaguars and won the game with a final score of 32-25.
According to NFL insider Rich Cimini, Wilson wants a trade out of the Jets since he is not finding enough options to show off his performance. However, this is only rumored news and not a fact. Wilson leaving the Jets will not be the only change that the team can be expected to see this offseason, after an unsuccessful campaign so far.
“I talked to people in Garrett Wilson’s circle,” Cimini said. “This is speculation on their part. They think he will ask for a trade after the season. Again, speculative by people who know him. We don’t know that to be a fact.” Cimini said on ‘Flight Deck’.
New York Jets are bound to lose a few players during the offseason, and perhaps even Aaron Rodgers. Before the season started, the Jets were one of the teams which had the most potential.
Fans and analysts everywhere were expecting plenty of explosive performances by the Jets. However, New York continues to disappoint their fans in the season, even today.
While the rumors about him keep spreading, Garrett Wilson has come out to say that he does not plan to leave the New York Jets.
Indeed, Wilson has not been able to do much this season with the Jets after the team granted him very few options to do so.
Despite all this, Wilson seems to be keeping his hopes up and is eager to prove his mettle in the next season.
To silence haters, Wilson took to social media to tweet “NY JET TTWFO”, which means ‘New York Jet Till The Wheels Fall Off’.
In this season, Wilson has managed to put up 84 receptions for 933 yards in total, along with six scores.

In his most recent appearance against the Jaguars, Wilson managed three receptions for 56 yards, along with a solo touchdown.
Next up, the New York Jets are scheduled to meet the Los Angeles Rams in action on Sunday to continue the NFL season. New York will definitely try to win in that game and move up the AFC East ladder

The New York Jets are home in East Rutherford, New Jersey today to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16 of the Jets’ 2024 campaign.
The game will be played in the coldest weather the Jets have seen in years. This will be an unseasonably frigid day to play football. The game will be played under bright and sunny skies throughout the game. Winds will be moderate and variable at 10 – 15 mph out of the north northwest throughout the game. It will be very cold in East Rutherford. Temperatures will hover in the low 20s throughout the game. The wind chill factor will be brutal, hovering around 10 degrees. There will be a less than 5% chance of precipitation throughout the game.
This is going to be difficult weather for fans and players alike. For fans, it’s time to break out the hats, gloves, and layers of fleece and down. It won’t be easy staying warm. For the players the conditions will make the kicking game and the passing game more difficult. Recent winters have been mild in New Jersey, but Sunday will be very cold and very uncomfortable. This will be frostbite weather. If you’re going to the game, bring plenty of cold weather gear and stay warm out there.

BREAKING: Derek Carr terminates his contract with the Saints and signs a $165 million deal with the Cowboys…
The stadium lights blazed down as Derek Carr sat at the edge of the Saints’ practice field, his mind racing. For months, rumors had swirled about his dissatisfaction with the team’s direction, but today, the speculation would finally come to an end. The ink on the $165 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys was still fresh, marking the most significant move of his career.
Hours earlier, Carr had met with the Saints’ management. “We’ve given you everything we could, Derek,” the GM pleaded. “Stay with us.” But Carr had already made up his mind. He longed for a team with the infrastructure and ambition to chase another Super Bowl ring—and the Cowboys offered just that.
As the news broke, social media erupted. Saints fans were heartbroken, while Cowboys fans buzzed with excitement, welcoming Carr as the missing piece of their championship puzzle.
By the evening, Carr donned his new Cowboys jersey for the first time, standing under the bright lights of AT&T Stadium. “This is a fresh start,” he told reporters. “I’m here to bring a championship back to Dallas.”
The pressure was immense, but Derek Carr thrived on it. With $165 million and the hopes of an entire fan base riding on his shoulders, he knew this was more than a career move—it was a legacy-defining moment.
