CONFIRMED: Superstar Coach & QB to ‘Take Over’ Raiders as Packaged Deal on one condition

The Las Vegas Raiders now have an opening at head coach with the news that they’ve fired Antonio Pierce. This is the second head coach owner Mark Davis has fired in the last two years, which could be concerning to potential candidates.

However, Davis is known to think outside the box sometimes and that could lead him to one of the most famous faces in the football world. Deion Sanders has done a good job of turning Colorado from one of the worst college football programs in the Power 5 to a respectable team, but he could have eyes toward the NFL.

The Raiders also have an opening at quarterback and it just happens that the coach’s son Shedeur Sanders is going to be in the 2025 NFL Draft. This led to Henry McKenna of Fox Sports predicting that Deion and Shedeur Sanders will “take over” over the Raiders offseason.

“While the Tennessee Titans ended up with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, in the case of Sanderses, it might not matter,” McKenna wrote. “Because while Shedeur is QB1, his dad might take control of their future and engineer the draft to fit them in the same way the Mannings once did for Eli. The Raiders might just need a change of leadership and quarterback. It’s a good team for Deion. And it’s not the worst fit for Shedeur. Now, I won’t go proclaiming that the Sanderses will have success in Vegas. But it would be fascinating to see Deion’s coup take place.”

Does Deion Sanders Want to Be in the NFL?

There’s been a lot of speculation about Sanders coaching in the NFL but it remains to be seen if that’s something he wants to do. Though he played in the NFL for over a decade, he has no experience coaching at that level.

He also has a good thing going in college. It’s going to put a lot of pressure on him and Shedeur to team up at the NFL level. Sanders has shown that he can handle high-pressure situations as a head coach but it may still be too early for him to make the jump and it’s unclear if he even wants to coach his son.

Could Sanders Duo Turn Raiders Around?

The most appealing thing about possibly hiring Sanders as head coach for the Raiders is that he’d likely force his son onto the team. Las Vegas holds the No. 6 pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft which likely puts them out of range to get Shedeur.

However, he could refuse to play for any team that isn’t the Raiders. Now, that could open up Las Vegas to a whole bunch of tampering issues but this would be an unprecedented situation and there may be nothing the NFL can do to stop it.

It would be a big gamble for the Raiders to make but it could work. Shedeur and Deion Sanders already turned around two college programs in Jackson State and Colorado. Perhaps they could also do it at the NFL level with a team like the Raiders.

Maxx Crosby Drops Bombshell in his Strong Message to Ben Johnson Amid Raiders Rumors

The Las Vegas Raiders can’t hire Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson until the end of his season but there is a lot of speculation that he’ll end up taking the team’s head coaching job. Star defensive end Maxx Crosby has been vocal about the team’s coaching searches in the past but recently said he’s going to stay out of it this time around.

However, he made it clear that he still would like his voice heard even though the Raiders are undergoing some major transitions right now.

“Like I said, in the past, I have definitely shared my thoughts and opinions on what we think we should do,” Crosby said on the Jan. 17 episode of “Good Morning Football.” “I am always going to be that way. That is who I am. I am very passionate about the Raiders in general. Being in my position I feel like I have earned that voice over the years with not only my production but what I have done in the building. You know, being the first in, last out every day. That is a big part of it.”

Crosby then directly addressed the rumor that Johnson would be his next head coach and he has some thoughts.

“Ben Johnson, a lot of people are talking about it,” Crosby said. “You hear rumors and sometimes when there is smoke there is a fire, but we will see. You heard Pete Carroll. You heard several names as well. And those guys are great coaches. At the end of the day, the most important thing to me, as you said is stability and winning. I want the chance to win. Been in those games. Be playing this time of the year. I know what I bring to the table as a leader and as a player and I want everyone else on board. My mind focus is on being in that environment. Whoever is going to give the Raiders the best chance to do that, I am aboard for that.”

Maxx Crosby Not Stressing Out

If the choices are between Johnson and Pete Carroll, Crosby has to be excited. The former is the hottest young coaching candidate on the market and Carroll is a Super Bowl winner. Both would likely be major upgrades over what the Raiders have had in recent years.

That said, nothing is a guarantee until a contract is signed so Crosby is just trying not to think about the situation too much.

“We will see how it turns out,” Crosby said. “In the past, I have stressed out about it and tried to worry too much but at the end of the day, I am in a different place in my life right now. I am extremely happy and confident in where I am at. We will see who is going to be the next guy.”

Raiders Landing Ben Johnson Gaining Steam

During the “Good Morning Football” segment, host Peter Schrager said to Crosby’s face that he thinks Johnson will be his next head coach. The defensive end smiled but didn’t tip his hand too much.

Regardless, the Raiders appear to have a real shot at landing the coach, which was thought to be impossible just a few weeks ago. The Lions season could go on for a while if they reach the Super Bowl so Crosby and the Raiders will have to be extra patient.

Ben Johnson Sends Shocking Message on Job Search Amid Raiders ‘Momentum Building

Ben Johnson Sends Shocking Message on Job Search Amid Raiders ‘Momentum Building

The Las Vegas Raiders could go in a number of directions for their next head coach but the early favorite from their end appears to be Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. However, he’s widely sought after by many teams and could have his pick of a few jobs.

He’s not allowed to interview with teams in person until the Lions’ season is over unless the team makes the Super Bowl. In that scenario, he could interview during the bye week leading up to the game. That said, he has done a number of virtual interviews, including one with the Raiders. He didn’t want to give too many details about where his head is at but did give a bit of insight into how the process is going.

“I’m going to stay focused on the main thing right here, and that’s going to be the Washington Commanders,” Johnson said during his Jan. 15 press conference. “That’s what we’re about. [Dan Campbell] asked me about how it went this weekend. It went great, and that’s the end of it. The focus right here and now for the players, for the coaching staff and for everybody in this building is about this game this week.”

Johnson likely could’ve gotten a head coaching job last but decided to stay in Detroit. This year, he’s made sure that he’s more prepared for the possibility that he could be a head coach.

“This go-around, I’ve been a lot more prepared for the types of questions that they’ve been asking,” Johnson said. “I’ve also changed my frame of mind a little bit. Instead of worrying solely about the offense … I’ve been able to have offseasons and summers to think about big-picture view of what a program would look like. In that way, I’m a lot more prepared for the questions that come my way and I’m much more comfortable answering them.

Momentum Building for Raiders to Land Johnson

At the start of the offseason, not many expected that the Raiders would even be able to land an interview with Johnson. In just a couple of weeks, Las Vegas is now among the favorites to hire the head coach.

According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, there is “momentum building” that Johnson will take the job. A lot can still happen in the coming weeks, especially since Johnson is committed to the Lions right now. That said, the Raiders are likely willing to wait if they have a chance to land the up-and-coming coach.

Johnson Talks First Time Meeting Tom Brady

The main reason the Raiders were even able to get Johnson on the phone is thanks to new minority owner Tom Brady. The legendary quarterback is the one who convinced Johnson to take the interview.

However, they don’t have much of a prior relationship. According to the coach, he met Brady for the first time this season.

“I know nothing of that nature,” Johnson said. “I met him at the Packers game on the field. I saw him on the field for a second. That’s the first time I’ve ever met him. That’s it.”

Brady is also calling Johnson’s playoff game this week so it’ll be interesting to see if there’s any updates to come out of that.

WRONG MOVE: Raiders Owner Mark Davis Slammed for Handling of Antonio Pierce & Tom Telesco

It appears that there are brighter days ahead for the Las Vegas Raiders but the last decade has been a mess under the ownership of Mark Davis. Nobody can accuse him of not caring about the team but he’s consistently made the wrong moves.

Last offseason, he had a chance to take a big swing at head coach and general manager. Instead, he decided to make Antonio Pierce the head coach, who had only two years of experience coaching in the NFL and hired general manager Tom Telesco, who had just been fired by the Los Angeles Chargers.

While it looks like the Raiders could be in the mix to land a top head coach and general manager, that’s not thanks to Davis, according to Sports Illustrated’s Gilbert Manzano. He took the owner to task for how he’s handled the last 12 months and named him as one of the biggest losers of the NFL Wild-Card Round.

“Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis has whiffed a handful of times on head coaches and general managers the past 14 years,” Manzano wrote in a Jan. 14 column. “But he didn’t even give coach Antonio Pierce and Tom Telesco a fair shake in firing both after one year.

“Davis forced the partnership between Pierce and Telesco because he couldn’t decide on one vision and was rewarded with a dreadful four-win season. He was concerned about Pierce’s lack of coaching experience and paired him with Telesco, a seasoned executive who spent 11 seasons as the Chargers’ GM. But Pierce was more compatible with Champ Kelly, who wasn’t promoted after being the interim GM in 2023.”

Tom Brady Having To Save Raiders

The only reason the Raiders can possibly attract top coaching talent this offseason is thanks to new minority owner Tom Brady. The legendary quarterback has won more than anybody and it appears that Davis is going to let him have a huge say in football operations going forward.

“It’s understandable that Davis is now allowing Tom Brady, the team’s minority owner, to have more say after years of getting it wrong, but it’s a bad look for the organization to fire a GM after one season and not give a coach time to develop knowing well that game management wasn’t a strength,” Manzano wrote. “Davis quickly pivoted, and probably for the best, but now Brady has to deliver pitches just to convince top coaching candidates like Johnson to interview with the team and assure them Davis will no longer be in the way, which isn’t even a guarantee.”

Will Davis Be More Passive Going Forward?

It remains to be seen if Davis will truly let Brady run the show. He’s been honest about the fact that his football knowledge is limited. Giving the keys to Brady is a wise decision but this is all very new.

If things get off to a rocky start with the new head coach, how involved will Davis be? He’s known to have postgame meetings with head coaches after every game. Will that continue to be the case going forward? It’s likely that we won’t have an answer on any of this until the 2025 season starts getting played.

GREAT MOVE: Mark Davis and Tom Brady  collaboration: brings a new hope to Raiders after firing Antonio Pierce and Tom Telesco as they have swiftly..

In an unexpected and bold move, Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis has teamed up with legendary quarterback Tom Brady to revitalize the team’s struggling franchise. This collaboration comes on the heels of significant organizational changes, including the firing of head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco.

The Raiders’ decision to part ways with Pierce, who was brought in midway through the previous season, was seen as a necessity after a disappointing campaign. Telesco, whose tenure was marked by questionable personnel decisions, was also let go as part of the team’s broader effort to reset the franchise.

The news of Brady’s involvement has ignited excitement among Raiders fans, who have longed for sustained success. Brady, who retired from professional football in 2023, is reportedly taking on a significant advisory role, working closely with Davis to help steer the franchise in a new direction. His presence is expected to have a far-reaching impact on both the team’s culture and future roster decisions.

As part of this overhaul, Davis has moved quickly to secure a new head coach. Reports indicate that Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is a strong candidate to take over in Las Vegas. Carroll, known for his leadership and experience in building successful teams, could bring the stability and discipline that the Raiders have lacked in recent years. Additionally, the team is said to be focused on bringing in a new general manager who shares their vision for long-term success.

This major shakeup within the organization is a clear signal that the Raiders are aiming to return to prominence, and with Brady’s expertise and leadership, the franchise may finally have the right pieces in place to contend for championships in the near future. Fans are hopeful that this new chapter will be the key to unlocking the team’s potential.
