DONE DEAL! – Man United board approve £80m bid to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham

According to reports, the Manchester United hierarchy has approved an offer of £80 million for Harry Kane of Spurs.

Erik ten Hag wants to expand his attacking options this summer by bringing in a new striker.

The United board has long admired Kane, but the club is also keeping an eye on Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, who has scored 21 goals in Serie A this season.

The Daily Star claims that Ten Hag has named Kane his top target, and that Richard Arnold, CEO of United, has now given the go-ahead for a bid of £80 million to be made.

The report claims that United are keen to complete the deal as quickly as possible and will open negotiations with Tottenham before the season is over.

Ten Hag is also said to believe that the signing of Kane this summer will make United contenders for the Premier League title next term.

Kane scored in England’s 2-0 victory over Ukraine on Sunday and speaking after the game, former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard said the Tottenham striker has reached a crossroads in his career.

‘He’s got a big decision to make career-wise,’ Gerrard said.

‘I’ve been there myself, where you’re thinking ‘is my team good enough to get me the medals? Am I going to get out of my career what I want to get?’.

‘It’s different for me. I knew winning one trophy more with Liverpool would have meant a lot more to me than being anywhere else.

‘He’s [Kane] got a big decision to make. I can’t give him any advice on that but I bet you every single day of his life now moving forward, it’s going to be on his mind.’
