Ex-Bills LB Lands With Division Rival After Surprise Release

The Buffalo Bills won’t have a reunion with former linebacker Tyrel Dodson, who is instead headed to a division rival.

Dodson was waived by the Seattle Seahawks in a surprise move this week, which came after he started all nine games and was leading the team with 71 total tackles. There had been some speculation that the Bills could snag Dodson to help fill a gap at linebacker, but he was instead claimed by the Miami Dolphins.

Former Bills Linebacker Returns to the AFC East

Dodson first came to the Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2019, spending most of that season on the practice squad and taking on a bigger role in 2020. He appeared in 68 total games through four seasons in Buffalo, making 143 total tackles with 4.5 sacks.

Though there had been some speculation that the Bills could use Dodson as linebackers Matt Milano and Baylon Spector are still working to return from injuries, the Dolphins were ahead of them on the waiver wire and put in a claim on Dodson.

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said the team decided to release Dodson to give opportunities to other linebackers, including rookie Tyrice Knight. Instead of demoting Dodson out of the starting lineup, Macdonald said the team wanted to give him the opportunity to find a new team where he could continue to play a more significant role.

Former #Seahawks LB Tyrel Dodson was claimed by the #Dolphins, source said. A new landing spot for the starter.

“We really appreciate T-Dot,” Macdonald said, via the team’s official website. “He’s worked extremely hard, rehabbed throughout the offseason here. There was an opportunity for us when we sat and took a step back and realized where we were at, it was the best thing for us to move forward that way, give the other guys in the room an opportunity to step up. I hope those guys grab that opportunity by the horns and take it run with it, and then it gives Tyrel an opportunity to find another spot somewhere else so he can finish the year strong. That was the thought behind it.”

Bills Could Get Big Boost on Defense

The Bills could have another big addition to their defense in the coming weeks. Head coach Sean McDermott announced this week that the team activated the 21-day window for Milano to return, allowing him to return to practice.

Though Milano had already been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, his return could be in sight. McDermott said the team is starting by seeing how he looks in practice after making good strides to return from the torn pectoral he suffered in training camp.

“We’re going to take it one week at a time here,” McDermott said, via SI.com. “We’ll see how this week goes. Really where we’re at is, it’s been a while since he’s played football here. He’s done a phenomenal job, along with our trainers, of getting back to now where he can get back out there. Really just take it one day and one week at a time. Those guys are going to reassess towards the end of the week and see where he’s at and what the next week may hold for him.”

BAD NEWS: Alvin Kamara’s Injury Status Is Rough News for Saints as he will miss……

The running back is currently dealing with a groin issue.

It’s more bad news for the New Orleans Saints and their injured running back, Alvin Kamara.

Kamara is currently dealing with a groin injury, and it was revealed Thursday that the problem is “more significant” than originally believed, per head coach Darren Rizzi, who says that the running back is unlikely to play Monday versus the Green Bay Packers. New Orleans Football reporter Nick Underhill adds that Kamara is “week to week” right now.

With just three games left in the regular season and the Saints’ playoff hopes dashed, it’s possible Kamara does not play again this year.

The 29-year-old suffered the injury against the Washington Commanders in Week 15. On Wednesday, the Saints signed waived Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire to their practice squad, possibly in connection to Kamara’s absence.

So far this season, Kamara has racked up 950 rushing yards, 543 receiving yards, and 8 total touchdowns.

Saints Head Coach Darren Rizzi Breaks Silences as He Announces NFL Super Star Taysom Hill Has Reportedly Expressed His Willingness to Forgo His Upcoming Contract in Order to Accomplish his..

New Orleans Saints Head Coach Darren Rizzi has officially addressed the media following reports that NFL star Taysom Hill has expressed his willingness to forgo his upcoming contract. The versatile player, known for his ability to line up in multiple positions, is reportedly open to restructuring his deal in order to help the team strengthen its roster and maintain its competitive edge.

Rizzi confirmed Hill’s willingness to make this significant sacrifice, noting that Hill’s dedication to the team and its success has always been evident. “Taysom has always been about what’s best for the Saints,” Rizzi said. “He is the ultimate team player, and his willingness to adjust his contract to support the future of this organization speaks volumes about his character and commitment.”

Hill, who has played multiple roles for the Saints, including quarterback, tight end, and special teams contributor, is considered one of the most versatile players in the NFL. His ability to impact the game in a variety of ways has made him invaluable to the Saints, but Hill’s future with the team was uncertain due to the impending contract negotiations.

While the details of the new contract have not been disclosed, Hill’s willingness to help ensure the team’s success speaks to his unselfish attitude and leadership qualities. The Saints are expected to leverage this flexibility to secure key additions to their roster, potentially enhancing their depth across multiple positions.

Rizzi’s statement comes as the Saints are focused on building a championship-contending squad for the future. “Taysom’s decision to prioritize the team’s goals is a reflection of the kind of culture we’ve been building here in New Orleans,” Rizzi added.

progresses, the Saints will likely be looking for ways to capitalize on Hill’s sacrifice and ensure that the team remains competitive both in the short and long term.

BREAKING NEWS: Jets’ Aaron Rodgers Reveals his Retirement Plans Following……..

There is a ton of speculation regarding the playing future of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers himself has now detailed what his plans are following the conclusion of the 2024 season.

According to Zack Rosenblatt, “Aaron Rodgers said he’ll take some time after the season to decide what he wants to do future-wise ‘unless I get released right away.’ But even then, he plans on taking some time to decide his NFL future.”

Apparently, Rodgers plans to decide his future at the end of the season after taking some time. He will do so regardless if the Jets release him or not.

Rodgers was meant to lead the Jets to a playoff berth, and the team was even slated as a dark horse Super Bowl candidate. That has not been the case, and New York has only gone from bad to worse following Robert Saleh being let go.

Saleh was unceremoniously fired after five weeks, leading to the Jets placing Jeff Ulbrich in the driver’s seat. Jets owner Woody Johnson revealed that Ulbrich would have a shot at earning the job permanently depending on how well he did.

The Jets have regressed since Ulbrich took over, posting a current 4-10 record. Rodgers has also not played anywhere near his normal Pro Bowl self. The longtime veteran has thrown 3,255 yards, 23 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

Though Rodgers’ numbers are not terrible on paper, he has not been able to lead his team to many wins. It would be believed that the Jets are aiming to cut him to save money on the cap, while they also draft a much better prospect in the quarterback-heavy draft.

Rodgers is also 41 years old and his regression has led many to believe that he will finally retire. Following his season-ending Achilles injury in 2023, it was believed he would walk away from the game of football. However, he remained only for the Jets to once again be irrelevant in the AFC.

Though many teams could call Rodgers should the Jets release him, he might not have what it takes to lead anymore, and could find himself as a backup to a young upstart quarterback.

For now, it appears Rodgers will take some time off to assess his future. It would not be the least bit shocking if he decides to walk away from the NFL following this season.
