“He will join…Manchester United’s £35m target dubbed ‘a Man City player’ amid Ibrahimovic comparison

Manchester United are keen on Joshua Zirkzee but one Belgian reporter feels that the £35 million-rated Bologna striker is perfectly suited to the Red Devils’ Premier League rivals Man City.

As Filip Joos found himself dripping and shivering at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara – the rain tumbling down from above – the visiting reporter must have wondered why he had subjected himself to such misery. But then Joshua Zirkzee made it all worthwhile.

The £35 million-rated Manchester United linked striker – one of the breakout talents in European football this season – produced the sort of performance Serie A fanatics have become accustomed to in front of Joos’ watchful eye.

And while he was unable to add to an impressive tally of eight goals and four assists during Bologna’s 1-1 draw with Genoa, Joos’ journey from Belgium to Italy certainly was not wasted after witnessing Zirkzee’s supreme technical gifts first-hand.

“Seeing Bologna at work with Joshua Zirkzee was the reason for my trip,” Joos tells Sporza.

“Really, the talent was oozing. He didn’t score a goal, one because the rest of the team did not see it or could not capitalise on (their chances). But those actions made my trip worth it.

“Now, everyone will pay attention to him so I fear that his numbers will decrease a bit.

“But Zirkzee is really the real deal for me. He is actually a player for Manchester City, that type of football. Someone who makes the rest of the team play better.”

According to German publication Sport1, there is interest not from City but from Manchester United in the one-time Bayern Munich forward.

Zirkzee may not have made the grade at the Bundesliga champions but, at the age of just 22, his performances at Bologna go some way to explaining why he was so highly regarded in the Allianz Arena dressing room, Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich among those to speak in glowing terms about Zirkzee’s potential.

For Juric, Zirkzee possesses an elegance and a swagger reminiscent of one Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“Those who are good (coaches), take these talents, cultivate them and manage to make them explode. In some moves, I see Ibra again,” the Croatian added.

“He is an atypical striker who also manages to score many goals.”

With funds tight at Old Trafford for the time being, Zirkzee is likely to be an option Manchester United revisit in the summer.

NEW YORK JETS -Insider Claims Aaron Rodgers Could Betray Jets, Sign Deal With AFC Powerhouse

quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (right) greet each other after their game at Acrisure Stadium.

If Aaron Rodgers opts to betray the New York Jets in free agency, could he opt to sign with Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers?

The New York Jets and quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed like a match made in heaven, especially after the Jets went out and acquired wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.

But nothing ever completely clicked for the Jets during Rodgers’ two-year tenure with the franchise. After an injury-riddled 2023 season, Rodgers and the Jets finished 5-12 in 2024. After such a sour season, both sides could be looking to part ways this offseason.

Legendary sportswriter Peter King recently suggested Rodgers could betray the Jets and sign elsewhere. King made the connection to the Mike Tomlin-led Pittsburgh Steelers on an episode of the Let’s Go! podcast.

“I think we have seen Russell Wilson hit a wall,” King said. “Whether Mike Tomlin is even thinking about, I’m sure he’s not right now, thinking about 2025. They got a playoff game coming up, but if I were the Pittsburgh Steelers, knowing that I’ve got Cam Heyward, TJ Watt, I’ve got guys on defense with their expiration dates not long in the future. I would want to come in and try to get a quarterback who can make me competitive with Baltimore and Cincinnati in 2025. That guy to me would be Aaron Rodgers.”

Rodgers could sign for around $25 million after his 2024 campaign. Pittsburgh could certainly afford that price.

Coach Tomlin has two starting quarterbacks on his roster, Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, but both signal-callers are free agents at the end of the season. There’s a chance the Steelers don’t retain either guy.

Pittsburgh’s best two players, T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward, are on the older side and the Super Bowl window seems to be closing in Pittsburgh. Adding a quarterback like Rodgers to lead the young offense could be exactly what the Steelers need.

It would be like having Wilson with more experience and a higher ceiling.

London calling (again): NY Jets to host regular season game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2025,

London’s calling again for the New York Jets in 2025.

For the third time in the last five seasons, the Jets are returning back across the pond to play another home game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in England.

Gang Green is one of three teams — the two others being the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars — who will each play international games in London in 2025.

The Jets and Vikings met in London last October, with Minnesota staying a perfect 5-0 following a 23-17 win from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The loss ended up being a notable breaking point for the Jets, who ended up firing head coach Robert Saleh less than 48 hours after the game.

All things Jets: Latest New York Jets news, schedule, roster, stats, injury updates and more.

Once Saleh was out the door, Gang Green went straight into a nose dive, losing nine of their final 12 games of the season, while also firing general manager Joe Douglas in the process back in mid-November.

The Jets are aiming for their second win in four tries in England, with their first victory coming back in 2015 when they defeated fellow AFC East opponent, the Miami Dolphins, 27-14 from Wembley Stadium.

“We are excited to bring the unique and entertaining atmosphere of a New York Jets home game to London as part of the 2025 NFL International Games,” Jets president Hymie Elhai said in a statement.

“It is another great opportunity for our organization to build upon our brand and fandom in the U.K. which we have enjoyed cultivating the last few years. The success of the NFL’s international games speaks directly to the sport’s increasing global reach, and we are proud to continue as ambassadors of the game.”

With the Jets opponents being officially announced for the 2025 season, their opponent in this matchup can be one of nine teams: either their AFC East counterparts — Bills, Dolphins or Patriots — or versus the Browns, Steelers, Falcons, Panthers, Broncos or Cowboys.

2024: Vikings 23, Jets 17 from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

2021: Falcons 27, Jets 20 from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

BREAKING: Aaron Rodgers in High-Tension Turnaround, Targeting a Shocking $25M Deal with AFC Titans, Fanning Jets’ Betrayal Flames

The NFL world is abuzz with rumors swirling around Aaron Rodgers and a potential seismic shift in his career trajectory.

The quarterback maestro, previously associated with the New York Jets, is now reportedly eyeing a staggering $25 million deal with the AFC powerhouse, the Tennessee Titans.

This sudden twist in Rodgers’ narrative has set tongues wagging and hearts racing as fans speculate on the implications of this potential move. It seems betrayal is in the air, fanning the flames of intrigue and uncertainty.

The New York Jets appeared to have struck gold when they acquired the formidable Davante Adams to complement Aaron Rodgers on the field. The duo created a flutter of excitement among fans, anticipating a renaissance for the Jets.

Alas, fate had other plans as injuries plagued Rodgers during the 2023 season, culminating in a lackluster 2024 campaign that left the Jets floundering with a 5-12 record.

The once-promising partnership between Rodgers and the Jets now appears to be on shaky ground, hinting at an imminent separation.

King’s musings on a podcast hinted at a plausible scenario where Rodgers could pivot towards the Pittsburgh Steelers, under the seasoned guidance of Mike Tomlin.

Aiming to fortify their roster and stay competitive in the AFC North, the Steelers could be eyeing Rodgers as the missing piece in their championship puzzle. With key defensive stalwarts facing the twilight of their careers, the prospect of Rodgers donning the black and gold has ignited fervent discussions among NFL aficionados.

In a strategic chess move, Coach Tomlin finds himself at a crossroads with two seasoned quarterbacks, Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, both on the brink of free agency.

The impending departures of these signal-callers have opened up a glaring chasm in the quarterback department for the Steelers. With the window of opportunity for a Super Bowl run gradually inching shut, the urgency to secure a leader of Rodgers’ caliber becomes paramount.

Rodgers’ potential arrival could herald a new era for the Steelers, injecting vigor and experience into a budding offense eager to make its mark on the league stage

JETS FINAL VERDICT AMIDST NEW MOVES: “It will be pointless to get a HC but not getting a GM” Jets’ owner Woody Johnson breaks silence after series of interviews with Headcoaches amidst decision to replace Jeff Ulbrich with a new HC, the Jets still went ahead to fill in GM Draught by bri…

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson has broken his silence regarding the team’s recent coaching and front-office shake-up. Following a series of high-profile interviews with head coach candidates, Johnson made it clear that the Jets’ decision to part ways with defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich and bring in a new General Manager (GM) was only the first step in the team’s rebuilding process. Johnson emphasized the importance of making the right decisions in both key roles to ensure future success.

“It will be pointless to get a head coach without a strong GM to lead our football operations,” Johnson stated, reflecting his commitment to creating a well-structured leadership team. After weeks of speculation and interviews, the Jets chose to move forward with Mike Vrabel, the former defensive coordinator and head coach of the Tennessee Titans, as their new head coach. Vrabel, known for his defensive acumen and leadership, is expected to bring a fresh perspective and boost to the team.

In addition to the coaching change, the Jets also addressed their front-office needs, hiring former Atlanta Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff. Dimitroff, who led the Falcons to consistent playoff appearances during his tenure, brings extensive experience to the Jets, making him a vital addition to the organization. His deep understanding of player personnel and talent evaluation is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the team’s future roster.

The decision to bring in both Vrabel and Dimitroff signifies a strategic shift for the Jets, who are hoping to build a competitive team capable of contending in the AFC East. Johnson’s comments suggest that the Jets are no longer focusing on short-term fixes but are committed to long-term success. The next few seasons will be pivotal in determining whether this combination of leadership will propel the team back to relevance in the NFL.

Jets Complete Interview With Matt Nagy for HC Vacancy

Chiefs’ Offensive Coordinator Named 2018 NFL Coach of the Year

The Jets have completed a virtual interview with Matt Nagy for their vacant head coach position.

Nagy, 46, has been the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator for the last two seasons in his second stint with the organization. He first joined Kansas City as its quarterbacks coach from 2013-15 before taking over as OC from 2016-’17, which led him to being hired as Chicago’s head coach in ’18.

Nagy went 34-31 in four seasons with the Bears and made the playoffs twice. He was named AP Coach of the Year his first year as head coach with a 12-4 record and an NFC North title. Nagy led the team back to the postseason in 2020 as the wild card and was fired after a 6-11 season in ’21, his only losing season as head coach.

After his tenure in Chicago, Nagy returned to the Chiefs as the team’s senior assistant and quarterbacks coach under HC Andy Reid. Nagy’s first NFL coaching job came under Reid’s tutelage in Philadelphia in 2008. Nagy held three positions with the Eagles – coaching intern (’08-’09), coaches’ assistant (’10) and offensive quality control coach (2011-12) before moving with Reid to the Chiefs.

Nagy, from Dunellen, NJ, grew up in Manheim, PA, before playing college football at Delaware. After going undrafted in 2001, he played seven seasons in the Arena Football League.

For candidates who are coaching on a playoff team with a bye, like Nagy, those virtual interviews can be held between Wednesday and the end of wild-card weekend. They’re limited to three hours in length. In-person interviews with assistants who are under contract with other teams can begin on Jan. 20, unless those teams are still alive for the conference title games.

Jets Chairman Woody Johnson is leading the searches for a head coach and general. He hired The 33rd Team in a support role to help identify and vet candidates in addition to coordinating interviews.
