“I Will Leave for Him to Play!” – Green Bay Packers 5-Star Veteran Jordan Love Tells Club
“I Will Leave for Him to Play!” – Green Bay Packers 5-Star Veteran Jordan Love Tells Club
In a remarkable show of selflessness and team-first mentality, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has made headlines with his comments regarding the team’s future and his role within the organization. As Love continues to establish himself as a cornerstone for the Packers, his recent remarks reflect his maturity and leadership both on and off the field.
A Rising Star in Green Bay
Jordan Love, the Packers’ first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, spent his early years in the NFL under the shadow of future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Rodgers. The Utah State product patiently waited for his opportunity, learning and growing behind one of the league’s most accomplished quarterbacks.
When Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets in 2023, the Packers handed the reins to Love. Since then, the young quarterback has shown flashes of brilliance, leading Green Bay to a competitive position in the NFC North. His ability to balance poise, athleticism, and decision-making has silenced many early doubters, positioning him as the team’s long-term answer under center.
The Remarkable Declaration
During a recent press conference, Love addressed speculation about the Packers’ interest in grooming another young quarterback or accommodating a veteran player who might need playing time. Demonstrating an unexpected level of humility, Love said, “If the organization believes someone else can help the team, I will leave for him to play. It’s always about what’s best for the team.”
The statement struck a chord with fans and analysts alike, who lauded Love for putting the Packers’ success above his personal ambitions. In an era where individual accolades often take precedence, Love’s comments remind everyone of the values that make Green Bay a storied franchise: teamwork, sacrifice, and commitment to excellence.
A Leader On and Off the Field
Love’s words underscore his growth as a leader in the Packers’ locker room. Teammates have frequently praised his calm demeanor, work ethic, and ability to inspire confidence. Veteran wide receiver Christian Watson described Love as “the kind of guy you’d go to war with—selfless and always thinking about the bigger picture.”
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur also weighed in, saying, “Jordan’s maturity is something special. He’s not just a talented player but a great person. That kind of mindset is what makes teams successful in the long run.”
What’s Next for the Packers?
Love’s willingness to step aside, if necessary, does not suggest he’s giving up his role. Instead, it reflects his confidence in the team and his belief in healthy competition. With the Packers in the thick of playoff contention, Love’s leadership will be pivotal in the weeks ahead.
The team is also evaluating its roster and future plans. While it’s unlikely the Packers would sideline Love, his openness to team-oriented decisions allows Green Bay to explore options without fracturing locker room chemistry.
The Bigger Picture
Love’s declaration comes at a time when the NFL is seeing a generational shift in quarterback leadership. As young stars like Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, and Patrick Mahomes dominate headlines, Love is carving out his identity as not just a talented player but also a thoughtful leader.
For Packers fans, Love’s statement reinforces why they’ve embraced him as the face of the franchise. It’s not just about the wins or highlight-reel plays—it’s about embodying the spirit of a team-first culture that has defined Green Bay for decades.
As the Packers gear up for the rest of the season, one thing is clear: with Jordan Love at the helm, they have not just a quarterback, but a leader willing to make sacrifices for the greater good. Whether or not that scenario ever materializes, Love’s words will resonate as an example of the humility and dedication that sets him apart in today’s NFL.

The New York Jets are going out with the old and in with the new.
CBS NFL Insider Jonathan Jones shared on social media that the Jets and “Co-Director of Player Personnel Greg Nejmeh have mutually parted ways.”
Nejmeh had previously been with the organization for the last 16 years “in a variety of roles and will now seek opportunities with other teams,” Jones added.
With new leadership coming in, the Jets and Co-Director of Player Personnel Greg Nejmeh have mutually parted ways, sources tell @NFLonCBS. Nejmeh served 16 years within the organization in a variety of roles and will now seek opportunities with other teams.
Nejmeh’s 16-year run with the team coincided with the longest playoff drought [still active] in Jets franchise history.

“Think it is good early sign for Mougey/Glenn that a change like this is happening,” Jets analyst Joe Caporoso responded.
Some Jets fans responded to Caporoso saying they didn’t know who Nejmeh was and questioned the impact of such a move.
“One of the things we were hoping to see a prospective head of football operations do (but perhaps they are giving this GM/HC combo the bandwidth to do themselves) is start taking apart the relatively senior FO infrastructure that has been here effectively the entire 14-year drought or most of it, it is an alarmingly deep bench. [Joe] Douglas never touched it and in fact doubled down on it by bringing [Rex] Hogan back,” Caporoso said.

Jets analyst Will Parkinson predicted that this wouldn’t be the last of the firings by Mougey.
“Would assume this won’t be the last of the change up in the front office,” Parkinson said. “Likely will be more firings and one or multiple meaningful additions to the front office.”
ESPN radio host Jake Asman said, “Good start for Darren Mougey. Need fresh blood in the front office.”
Good start for Darren Mougey. Need fresh blood in the front office. #Jets
The Jets have had one winning season over the last 14 years. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2011 – the season 2010. There is nothing wrong with removing some of the funk that has hung around during all of this losing. A fresh start and new perspectives can only help.

The Jets quickly removed Nejmeh from the team website.
Brian Costello of the New York Post told Jake Asman on “The Jake Asman Show” that he hasn’t “heard much” as it pertains to Mougey making additions to the Jets front office.
However, Coz did say he could see Mougey adding a true No. 2 – right-hand man – ahead of the 2025 NFL draft aka an assistant GM type. He thinks the majority of the front-office additions will take place after the draft.
Phil Savage who had been serving as the interim Jets general manager since Joe Douglas was fired has seemingly remained with the team.
On the team website, they have changed his job title to “consultant.”
“One thing that is weird to me about the Jets is the scouting department is virtually the same. There are guys there from [Mike] Tannenbaum, there are some guys from [John] Idzik, there are some guys from [Mike] Maccagnan and I think maybe one or two who were added by Douglas. Obviously, his right-hand men are all gone,” Costello said on “The Jake Asman Show.” “In terms of the scouts, there hasn’t been a lot of turnover.”
A few hours after this interview on Tuesday, February 4 the news of the Jets firing Nejmeh went public. It sounds like there is a new sheriff in town and his name is Darren Mougey.

DANGEROUS PATH: Kansas City Chiefs Star Patrick Mahomes Sends a Warning Message to Tom Brady that has sent shockwaves through the NFL Community
DANGEROUS PATH: Kansas City Chiefs Star Patrick Mahomes Sends a Warning Message to Tom Brady that has sent shockwaves through the NFL Community
In the aftermath of a dramatic Kansas City Chiefs victory over the Texas team, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has found himself at the center of a brewing controversy after sending a pointed warning message directed at NFL legend Tom Brady. The remarks, which came after a tense encounter with the Texas team, were aimed at comments Brady made regarding the officiating during the game. Mahomes’ comments have sparked debates across the NFL, stirring up conversations about how referees should be held accountable, and whether such remarks from a former player hold weight in influencing current players and fans.
The Chiefs’ latest game against the Texas squad was full of ups and downs, dramatic moments, and high-intensity action. As always, Mahomes played a crucial role in leading the Chiefs to victory. However, it wasn’t just Mahomes’ performance on the field that made headlines following the game—it was his reaction to remarks made by Tom Brady about the officiating that sent waves through the NFL community.
The Controversial Game
The Chiefs-Texas game was a highly anticipated matchup, featuring two of the most talented teams in the league. As expected, the game was a hard-fought contest, with both teams displaying elite-level football. Mahomes, who continues to elevate his game as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, once again showed why he is regarded as one of the most dangerous signal-callers in the league. His ability to read defenses, make incredible throws, and guide his team to victory was on full display.
However, as the game unfolded, tensions began to rise between the players and the referees. Multiple calls during the game left both sides frustrated, with players on both teams visibly upset by some of the decisions made by the officiating crew. In particular, there was one controversial penalty against the Texas team that many felt was a questionable decision. The call resulted in a significant swing in momentum, giving the Chiefs an opportunity to take control of the game.
The frustration over the calls quickly spilled into post-game analysis. While players on both teams spoke out about certain penalties they disagreed with, it was Tom Brady’s comments regarding the referees that grabbed the most attention. The seven-time Super Bowl champion took to social media after the game to express his dissatisfaction with the officiating, suggesting that the referees were not held accountable for some of their more questionable calls.
Brady’s remarks didn’t sit well with Mahomes, who has always prided himself on respecting the game and its officials. In his post-game interview, Mahomes took the opportunity to fire back, sending a warning message to Brady that has since become a hot topic of conversation around the league.
Patrick Mahomes Fires Back at Brady’s Remarks
During his interview after the game, Mahomes addressed the controversy surrounding Brady’s comments about the referees. While Mahomes is no stranger to criticism of officiating himself, he made it clear that he believes in the importance of players respecting the referees and the decisions they make on the field.
“I’ve heard what Tom said, and honestly, I don’t think it helps anything. We all know how tough it is to officiate a game. Calls are going to be missed, but at the end of the day, we need to focus on what we can control. We don’t want to get distracted by things outside of our control, like the referees’ calls. If you’re going to win, you have to win through what’s on the field, not what’s happening with the flags or whistles. Everyone makes mistakes. But this whole thing with focusing on the refs is a dangerous path to go down,” Mahomes said, offering a strong response to Brady’s remarks.
His comments have caused quite a stir within the NFL community, as Mahomes is known for his leadership and respectful demeanor both on and off the field. The reigning Super Bowl MVP has always taken a professional approach to the game, preferring to focus on his performance and team dynamics rather than engaging in outside distractions. In many ways, Mahomes’ response seemed to be a call for unity and professionalism, urging players to rise above external noise.
“Tom Brady is one of the greatest to ever do it, no question. But I think sometimes, we need to be careful about how we talk about the officials,” Mahomes continued. “They’re part of the game too, and they have a tough job. We can’t allow ourselves to get caught up in blaming them for everything. There are plenty of other things we can control.”
Brady’s Influence and the Impact of His Comments
Tom Brady is undoubtedly one of the most influential figures in the history of the NFL. His accolades, experience, and status as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game give his words significant weight. However, as Mahomes pointed out, there are potential consequences to airing grievances about officiating, particularly when someone as high-profile as Brady makes such comments.
While Brady’s criticisms of the referees may have resonated with some fans and players who were frustrated with the officiating, Mahomes’ response has sparked an important conversation about the responsibility that comes with being a prominent figure in the league. Brady’s comments may have been seen as a venting of frustration, but Mahomes’ counterpoint underscores the need for restraint and professionalism when discussing officiating.
“It’s all about controlling what you can control,” Mahomes concluded. “When you start letting your emotions get the best of you, it only hurts the team. I want to lead by example. We can’t let things like this become a distraction.”
Mahomes and Brady: A Rivalry Born from Respect
While Mahomes and Brady have been rivals on the field, their relationship is built on mutual respect. Brady, who has seen Mahomes as the torchbearer of the NFL’s future, has praised the Chiefs quarterback on numerous occasions for his talent and leadership. However, their contrasting approaches to dealing with controversy highlight the generational divide between the two.
Brady, throughout his career, has always been vocal about his thoughts on officiating, often calling attention to missed calls and bad decisions. His public persona is one of unfiltered confidence, and he is known for speaking his mind when it comes to the game. In contrast, Mahomes has adopted a more measured approach, preferring to let his play speak for itself and avoiding public tirades about officiating.
The differing styles of the two quarterbacks are reflective of the changing culture in the NFL. Mahomes represents a new generation of athletes who are focused on maintaining control and keeping the focus on their craft, while Brady’s approach is more direct and at times confrontational.
That being said, Mahomes’ comments should not be seen as a personal attack on Brady. Instead, they should be viewed as part of a broader conversation about how players should approach criticism of the referees and how they can lead by example for younger generations of athletes coming into the league.
A Turning Point for the NFL?
Mahomes’ message to Brady has sent shockwaves through the NFL, not only due to its direct nature but also because of its potential to influence how players approach issues related to officiating. As the game continues to evolve, the need for players to maintain professionalism and focus on what they can control becomes increasingly important.
While Brady’s influence is undeniable, Mahomes’ response highlights the importance of balance in addressing frustrations with the game. Rather than letting the noise distract him from the task at hand, Mahomes is showing the way forward for players in the new era of the NFL. His stance may also signal a shift in how the league and its players will engage with officiating in the future.
As for Brady, he’s likely to stand by his comments, as many greats do when it comes to their assessments of the game. But Mahomes’ response has shown that there’s another path—one rooted in respect, focus, and a commitment to controlling what can be controlled. This ongoing conversation between two of the NFL’s most prominent quarterbacks may just be the beginning of a larger shift in how players, officials, and fans view the delicate relationship between the two.

Jets HC Aaron Glenn Expected to Target Lions Defender: Analyst
Jets HC Aaron Glenn Expected to Target Lions Defender: Analyst
Detroit Lions defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike reacting in the middle of an NFL game.
When a new head coach gets hired in the NFL, some of their players from a previous stop often come over with them.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report expects that to occur with Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets.
Knox said Detroit Lions defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike “should top” Glenn’s free agent wish list with the Jets.
“Defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike, who was drafted in 2021, experienced every facet of Detroit’s turnaround. He battled through a three-win season as a rookie and through a back injury that cost him the entire 2022 campaign. He was a legitimate difference-maker this past season, finishing with 28 tackles, a forced fumble, and 13 quarterback hits,” Knox said.
“Onwuzurike would be a solid fit for the Jets, even if Glenn weren’t the head coach. Their defensive line was more good than great this past season, and they could lose Haason Reddick, Javon Kinlaw, Solomon Thomas, and Leki Fotu in free agency. With Glenn [overseeing] New York’s latest rebuild, Onwuzurike makes even more sense,” Knox explained in an article for B/R. “The 26-year-old has the potential to be a long-term building block next to Quinnen Williams in New York’s defensive interior. He could help Glenn install his defense and instill the sort of winning culture the Jets haven’t enjoyed in over a decade.”
Projected Free Agent Contract, Fit With the Jets
Onwuzurike, 26, entered the league as the No. 41 overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft.
During his four-year career, the veteran defensive tackle has appeared in 42 games and has made 10 starts.
Onwuzurike has 3.5 sacks, 16 quarterback hits, 68 total tackles, and four tackles for loss. While the raw pass rush numbers may not wow you – the former Washington product has raised eyebrows in the analytical community.
“The former second-round pick out of Washington is the penetrating three-technique interior pass-rusher that every team covets, with his 12.5% pass-rush win rate in 2024 ranking as a top-15 mark at the position,” according to Pro Football Focus.
PFF ranks him as the No. 40 overall best free agent in 2025 by PFF and specifically the third-best interior defensive lineman that is expected to be available.
Onwuzurike is expected to sign a two-year deal for $16.5 million with $10 million of that guaranteed, per PFF. That $8.25 million annual salary would place him at No. 30 among the highest-paid interior defensive linemen in the NFL, per Over The Cap.
Onwuzurike is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason with his rookie deal set to expire.
A Top Priority for the Green and White in 2025
One of the top goals for Glenn should be finding a Robin to Quinnen Williams’ Batman.
This past Jets season was destroyed because of poor play on the defensive line specifically at defensive tackle. The entire season was Williams and then a bunch of other guys on the interior defensive line.
“A running mate for the stud defensive lineman is overdue — especially after the Jets traded away John Franklin-Myers for a baggy of Werther’s Original last year. Gang Green has repeatedly tossed assets at the edges, leaving the interior to Q and whatever parts were lying around. With Javon Kinlaw and Solomon Thomas headed to free agency, it’s time to get Williams a difference-making mate who will take advantage of the one-on-ones the big guy provides,” Kevin Patra of the NFL Media Group said. “The Jets defense struggled for spells in 2024 partly because it was thin up the gut.”
Glenn plucking fruit from his old stomping grounds could go a long way toward solving the interior defensive line issues.

Stunning Prediction Sees Jets Bring in ‘Unique’ ‘Future All-Pro Talent’
Stunning Prediction Sees Jets Bring in ‘Unique’ ‘Future All-Pro Talent’
Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty reacting after a college football game.
The New York Jets could raise some eyebrows in the 2025 NFL draft.
NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein predicted that the Jets would do just that by selecting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 7 overall pick in the first round of his mock draft.
“The analytics community won’t like this pick, but so be it. The Jets have a stagnant offense and Breece Hall has not reached 1,000 yards rushing in any of his three seasons. Jeanty provides instant adrenaline to the offense and creates buzz in Aaron Glenn’s first season as head coach,” Zierlein explained.
Zierlein called Jeanty a “unique talent” who “has future All-Pro talent” in his writeup ahead of the NFL combine.
Jeanty was a Heisman finalist this year after his record-breaking season for Boise State. He finished with 2,601 rushing yards, 29 rushing touchdowns, and he averaged seven yards per rushing attempt.
A Potential Jets RB Draft Decision Would Be Historic
1990.
That was the last time the Jets invested a first-round draft choice at the running back position. It didn’t work out well.
Penn State’s Blair Thomas ended up being the No. 2 overall pick in that draft and only lasted four years in New York.
The Jets already have a really talented young back in Breece Hall. However, he is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2025. The former Iowa State product is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in 2026.
This offseason Hall is eligible to discuss a contract extension with the team. They have a new regime making decisions with head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey.
Do you give Hall a raise and pay him a premium contract? Or do you let his deal play out and let him walk at the end? Or do you consider flipping him to a team this offseason and explore alternative options?
Jets Have Considered Doing This Before
The green and white selected Hall with the No. 36 overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft. Hall showed plenty of flashes in his rookie season, but tore his ACL seven games in and missed the rest of the year.
That next offseason the Jets considered making a monumental move in the draft.
NFL draft analyst Dane Brugler revealed on social media in late April of 2023 that the Jets “had their eye” on running back Jahmyr Gibbs with the No. 15 overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft, but the Detroit Lions beat them to the punch.
“Jahmyr Gibbs going 12th. Surprised he landed in Detroit, but I LOVE the player and what his impact could be in that scheme. If Gibbs didn’t go 12, the Jets had their eye on him at 15. He was going top-20. Special offensive weapon,” Brugler said on social media.
Jahmyr Gibbs going 12th. Surprised he landed in Detroit, but I LOVE the player and what his impact could be in that scheme.
If Gibbs didn’t go 12, the Jets had their eye on him at 15. He was going top-20. Special offensive weapon.
The day after the Lions took Gibbs in the first round, I had Jets senior reporter Eric Allen on my show. He told me that it would have been “very interesting” if Bijan Robinson or Gibbs would have still been on the board for the Jets at pick No. 15
Fascinating #NFLDraft nugget 🧐 I just had #Jets senior Reporter @eallenjets on my radio show & he said if Bijan Robinson or Jahmyr Gibbs was on the board at No. 15 it would’ve been ‘very interesting’ for the Jets 👀 #TakeFlight
There was a lot of smoke out there that the Jets were highly coveting Gibbs in that draft.
If the Jets were willing to take a RB in the first round a year after taking Hall – why wouldn’t they consider doing the same thing a few years later?
Now the front office that considered taking Gibbs is no longer employed at 1 Jets Drive, but it makes you think.
Especially considering the Jets’ current head coach Aaron Glenn just came from Detroit where he got to see Gibbs’ impact up close and personal.

Known for his leadership and resilience, Rodgers’ unexpected revelation sent ripples through the Jets organization and the NFL world.
The star quarterback, who joined the Jets after a high-profile trade from the Green Bay Packers, had been expected to lead the team to a new era of success. However, Rodgers’ sudden decision to potentially step away from football raised questions about his future with the franchise. Many were left wondering whether his commitment to the game had waned or if there were other factors at play.
In his interview, Rodgers shared that his decision was rooted in personal reflection and a desire for growth. He explained that after years of playing at the highest level, he had reached a point where he needed to reassess his priorities and think about his life outside of football. “I’ve been through a lot, and sometimes you need to step back to truly understand what matters most,” Rodgers said.
