JUST IN: £40m Bayern Munich superstar have finally snub London rival to agree personal terms with Arsenal, medical to hold very soon as Arteta plan starting starting him next game
Arsenal are interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard following a long-term injury for Jurrien Timber, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Gunners recently suffered a huge setback with Timber suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury and he could be sidelined for most of the current season.
As a result, the club are looking to fill the void with a new signing, and Gazzetta claim that they are interested in securing the services of Pavard from Bayern.
Inter Milan and Manchester United are also in the running to sign the World Cup winner, but the Gunners could have an advantage over the duo in the pursuit.
Bayern are prepared to sell the 27-year-old for €30 million plus €5m in add-ons. Inter are currently reluctant to pay more than €25m for the Frenchman.
United, on the other hand, are completely reliant on Harry Maguire’s departure to sign Pavard. Maguire recently turned down a move to West Ham United.
Pavard could make the switch to Arsenal
Pavard has less than 11 months remaining on his Bayern contract. He has made his intention clear to leave the club and has no plans of penning a renewal.
Bayern are likely to cash in on him before the transfer deadline or else they could lose him on a free transfer. He can sign a pre-contract from January onwards.
In our view, the Frenchman would be a quality acquisition for Arsenal to fill Timber’s void.
Last season, he completed 67 passes per game in Bundesliga with an accuracy of 90 per cent. He won 2.3 tackles and five duels per appearance with 2.5 clearances.
He would fit perfectly into the plans of manager Mikel Arteta. For €30m up front, he would represent a good piece of investment as he is in the prime of his career.
Pavard can comfortably play in central defence or at right-back.

Breaking News: Aaron Rodgers Announces Departure from New York Jets
Breaking News: Aaron Rodgers Announces Departure from New York Jets
In a surprising turn of events, veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has announced his decision to leave the Ne York Jets after a challenging season. Rodgers, who joined the Jets in 2023 following a storied career with the Green Bay Packers, cited the team’s ongoing struggles and organizational changes as key factors in his departure.
The 2024 season has been tumultuous for the Jets, marked by the mid-season firings of head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas. These developments have cast uncertainty over the team’s future direction. Rodgers, who turned 41 in December, has faced scrutiny over his performance, with some analysts suggesting that the Jets should consider moving forward without him in the 2025 season.
Despite these challenges, Rodgers has maintained a level of performance that reflects his experience, completing 63.4% of his passes for 2,442 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions this season. However, the team’s overall record of 4-11 has extended their playoff drought to 14 years, leading to growing frustration among fans and stakeholders.
Rodgers’ departure leaves the Jets at a crossroads as they seek to rebuild and redefine their strategy moving forward. The organization will need to address key leadership positions and make critical decisions regarding their roster to break the cycle of underperformance that has plagued the franchise in recent years.
As for Rodgers, his future in the NFL remains uncertain. While he has not publicly announced retirement, the culmination of a challenging season and his departure from the Jets may prompt considerations about the next steps in his illustrious career.
This development marks a significant moment in the NFL landscape, with implications that will resonate through the league as teams and players adjust to the evolving dynamics ahead of the 202

“I still love jets and I will..” – Vikings Sam Darnold speaks on potential Jets return to replace Aaron Rodgers as future is debated ahead of 2025
“I still love jets and I will..” – Vikings Sam Darnold speaks on potential Jets return to replace Aaron Rodgers as future is debated ahead of 2025
Sam Darnold is enjoying a stellar season with the Minnesota Vikings but is only on a one-year contract and may join a new team in 2025 to secure a multi-year contract
As comebacks go, Sam Darnold’s resurgence in 2024 is quite impressive.
Not much was expected of the 27-year-old quarterback this season after he signed a one-year, $10 million contract with Minnesota.
The Vikings selected J.J. McCarthy, Michigan’s national championship-winning quarterback, in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft and fans were excited to see the rookie in action at the U.S. Bank Stadium.
Yet Darnold was handed a golden opportunity after McCarthy suffered a season-ending knee injury before Week 1. With the help of some brilliant offensive weapons – including superstar receiver Justin Jefferson – the Vikings have stormed to a 10-2 record in the NFC North. Only the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs have won more games (11) this season.
J.J. McCarthy fitness update leaves Sam Darnold facing big Vikings decision
Darnold has played a huge role in Minnesota’s success, but it’s still unclear whether he will stay. McCarthy is on course to be fully fit for the NFL season, while Daniel Jones – the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft – is now part of Minnesota’s practice squad.
So with that in mind, where will Darnold play his football next season? Does he sign a new contract with the Vikings? Or does he return to the New York Jets – the team that drafted him back in 2018 – and replace the 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers at QB? Other teams could also be interested in signing the former USC star.
Darnold will make his big return to the Big Apple, signing a three-year contract with the Jets. Similar to the role he was meant to serve with the Vikings prior to McCarthy’s season-ending injury, the 27-year-old will mentor whichever quarterback New York selects in April while starting under center during the 2025 campaign – only giving up the QB1 position when his successor is deemed ready.
Rich Jones
It’s a tricky one for Darnold. He’s played well, but any situation he walks into is likely to be far less favorable than the one he finds himself in with the Vikings. He’s had by far the best season of his career under Kevin O’Connell, and he’s likely banked up some credit. Even though they have high hopes for McCarthy, it’s likely Darnold’s job to lose next year.
This might be his only chance to cash-in with a big contract. But who would be willing to pay? His opportunities would be teams that aren’t exactly quarterback-friendly right now.
A second chance with the Jets, remarkably, could make some sense. He’d certainly have far, far better weapons at his disposal than his first go at it, but going back to the New York circus might not appeal.
If I’m Darnold, I think I back myself to beat out McCarthy and make the Vikings spot my own. But it would be absolutely understandable to test the waters and go to the highest bidder, whoever that may be.
Jeremy Goldstein
The Vikings should ink Darnold to a multi-year contract with almost all of the guarantees coming in the first season. For example, Darnold can sign a three-year, $90ish million contract with a large signing bonus and around $30 million in frontloaded guarantees.
If he’s bad, Minnesota can move on after a season with practically nothing on their books. If he shines again, they have an above-average starting quarterback making less than average at the position.
Joshua Mbu
With the Vikings selecting McCarthy high in the first round of the draft, and ex-New York Giants quarterback Jones signing on the practice squad following his sensational exit from the Big Apple, Darnold should assess his options elsewhere in free agency.
Darnold could land himself a multi-year deal worth considerably more than what he’s on in Minnesota and head to a team needing a quarterback. The Jets need a starting quarterback with the Rodgers experiment strugg

insider believes NY Jets will miss out on their top HC candidate for 2025
insider believes NY Jets will miss out on their top HC candidate for 2025
The NY Jets will interview a host of candidates in the coming weeks in search of their next head coach, but if reportes are to be believed, the team has already identified its top option. The Jets want Mike Vrabel.
SNY’s Connor Hughes reported earlier this month that Vrabel is the coach the Jets “covet the most.” The team has already reportedly put out feelers to his camp, and reports suggest the interest is mutual.
Vrabel is expected to be one of the top head coach candidates available this offseason and would widely been seen as a slam-dunk hire for the Jets. Unfortunately, not everyone believes in their chances.
In a recent episode of the Gang’s All Here podcast, Brian Costello of the New York Post expressed hesitancy about the Vrabel-Jets rumors, instead suggesting that a different team has emerged as the obvious frontrunner.
NY Jets insider believes Raiders will hire Mike Vrabel
Costello reported that the “murmurings around the league have going to Las Vegas.” He specifically highlighted the connection between Vrabel and Tom Brady, a notable minority owner of the Raiders who is expected to be involved in the hiring process.
The Raiders are expected to move on from current head coach Antonio Pierce this offseason, and with a potential top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, their job opening could be among the most coveted in the NFL.
Vrabel spent 14 years as an NFL linebacker, including eight seasons with the New England Patriots, where he was teammates with Tom Brady the entire time. Costello claims that Brady “loves Vrabel” and would prioritize bringing his former teammate in to coach his new team.
Vrabel was fired as head coach of the Tennessee Titans last January after six years in Nashville that included four straight winning records, consecutive AFC South titles, and a trip to the AFC Championship Game.
He’s spent the 2024 season working as a consultant with the Cleveland Browns as he prepares to re-enter the coaching cycle this offseason. The Jets and Raiders are two of the many teams expected to be interested.
The Jets have also been connected to the likes of Aaron Glenn (who appears to be highly coveted by New Orleans), Arthur Smith, Matt Nagy, and even ex-head coach Rex Ryan, who is eyeing a return to the league. Ryan’s legitimacy as a candidate remains in question, but the same can’t be said for Vrabel.
The Jets are eyeing a proven CEO-type head coach to help transform a culture of losing that has permeated the walls of Florham Park for far too long. Vrabel fits that criteria to a tee.
Unfortunately. the Jets won’t be alone in their pursuit of the former Titans coach, and as it stands right now, they might not be the favorites
