REVEALED: Mark Davis Favorite Candidate to Replace Antonio Pierce as Raiders Head Coach once he is fired

Amid a 10-game losing streak in the middle of the season, it looked like Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce was going to be shown the door. However, the team has now won back-to-back games and Pierce could be building some momentum to keep the job.

The problem facing Pierce is that nobody knows how big of a role Tom Brady is going to want to take on in his first year of being part of the Raiders ownership group. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, it’s unclear what Pierce’s status is right now.

“Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce’s status has been up in the air for over a month,” Breer wrote in a Dec. 30 column. “The team has continued to play hard for him, the roster’s gotten younger, the young guys have developed and going to Scott Turner as OC has mostly worked. They won Sunday. That said, with the expectation that the football people will be under a mandate to find a long-term quarterback this offseason, change is absolutely in play, if not likely. Tom Brady’s role will come into focus, too. The minority owner is invested in broadcasting, and calling the NFC championship and Super Bowl could likely limit his involvement in a coaching search.”

Something that has to concern Pierce is that there’s a coach available who Brady is very close with. Breer believes that former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is the favorite to replace Pierce if he’s fired.

“Mark Davis will listen to Brady’s counsel on where Pierce has taken the program and where things should go,” Breer wrote. “There are plenty of well-connected folks who believe Vrabel would be the front-runner for that job. In fact, last year, when Brady showed up at the team’s final practice of the season, some internally took it as a sign that a run at Vrabel, who hadn’t yet been fired in Tennessee, could be on the way.”

Would Mike Vrabel Want Raiders Job?

While the Raiders may covet Vrabel, it’s unclear how he would feel about moving to Las Vegas. He’s one of the top coaching candidates available and should garner interest from every team that has an opening.

Breer dropped a hint at what could make the Raiders more appealing to Vrabel than other potential openings.

“Meanwhile, with Vrabel, it’s important to consider his experience at the end in Tennessee in how he’ll seek alignment. Brady could give him that in Vegas,” Breer wrote.

Vrabel had issues with Titans ownership, which played a role in his firing. He played with Brady for eight years and the two have remained close. That trust level could be what sways Vrabel to Las Vegas.

Will Raiders Actually Make a Move?

Mark Davis has cycled through eight different head coaches since taking over ownership of the Raiders in 2011. He may not be very eager to undergo another coaching search.

That said, none of those coaching hires were made while Brady was part of ownership. Davis could simply allow Brady to make the decision, which likely wouldn’t bode well for Pierce. If the Raiders beat the Chargers in Week 18 to end the season on a three-game winning streak, then this will be a very interesting situation to watch.

BREAKING : NFL Insider reveals $230 Million QB as Potential Raiders Trade Target as Mark Davis Intervene

With the Las Vegas Raiders no longer in position to have a top-five pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s looking like they may not be able to land their quarterback of the future. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t appealing veterans who could become available.

One player who may be on the move is Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. The former No. 1 pick has had some high-highs since getting drafted by the team but he’s consistently faded in the second half of seasons. There was a point in the season where the Cardinals were 6-4 and appeared to be headed toward the playoffs.

They’ve now lost five of their last six games and are going to finish with a losing record for the fourth time since Murray was drafted. Perhaps a fresh start could be what’s best for the quarterback and The Athletic’s Tashan Reed floated the idea of the Raiders trading for him.

“The Arizona Cardinals’ Kyler Murray is the top option who could be available,” Reed wrote in a Jan. 1 column. “He signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract in 2022 and has three years remaining on his deal, but the Cardinals have missed the playoffs for three seasons in a row and might be looking for a change. They would take a dead cap hit of $33.2 million if they traded Murray, however, so the trade package would likely need to blow them away. Murray will be only 28 next season and ranks in the top 14 in completion percentage, passing yards and expected points added per dropback, so it’s easy to see the Cardinals just deciding to hold on to him”

Would Cardinals Actually Trade Kyler Murray?

Murray is a good quarterback. He’s a two-time Pro Bowler and only 27 years old. He’s also one of the best athletes playing the position right now.

The concern with him is that he may not have the drive to get the Cardinals over the hump. While restarting at quarterback is always a tough decision, Colin Cowherd believes that Arizona could consider moving him.

“I was always a defender on Kyler Murray because I thought he was a better version talent-wise of Russell Wilson. I thought he was more elusive and threw a better ball. He is historically small. He’s 5-8 and a half, but in the last six games: five touchdowns, eight picks and a passer rating in the 70s,” Cowherd said on the Dec. 30 episode of “The Colin Cowherd Podcast.”

“If you got him the right team – I think Arizona’s going to have a discussion to see if they can move him. I really do.”

What Would It Cost to Get Murray?

It’s difficult to know what kind of value the Cardinals could get for Murray. He’s an above-average starting quarterback but his contract is massive. Plus, his late-season woes could scare a lot of teams.

It’s possible that Cardianls could at least recoup a first-round pick. It’s very difficult to find quarterbacks and even though he’s got a big contract, he’s the 10th-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL right now. The Raiders might not make sense as they really need a strong leader at the position. Murray would be better suited to join a team that already has plenty of leadership. The Pittsburgh Steelers could be a very interesting spot for him if they move on from Russell Wilson.

GREAT NEWS: The Whole Raiders Fans and NFL Community Rejoice After Mark Davis Gives Important Update on HC Antonio Pierce Publicly stated that..

The Las Vegas Raiders and their passionate fanbase have been riding an emotional rollercoaster this season, but today, an announcement from Raiders owner Mark Davis has unified the Silver and Black faithful in celebration. Davis publicly addressed the future of interim head coach Antonio Pierce, delivering a message that has sent shockwaves through the NFL community.

In a press conference filled with optimism and energy, Davis confirmed that Antonio Pierce will officially remain as the Raiders’ head coach moving forward. This decision comes after Pierce’s impressive leadership since taking the reins mid-season, inspiring both the players and fans with his no-nonsense approach and deep understanding of the game.

“Antonio Pierce embodies everything we stand for as an organization,” Davis declared to a room packed with reporters. “His passion, commitment, and ability to connect with our players are unmatched. He’s brought a new energy to this team, and I couldn’t be prouder to announce that he’s here to stay as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.”

A Coach Who Resonates with the Raider Nation

Pierce, a former NFL linebacker and Super Bowl champion, took over as interim head coach following the mid-season dismissal of Josh McDaniels. In just a few weeks, he transformed the team’s demeanor, fostering a culture of accountability and grit. Players have rallied behind him, consistently praising his leadership and the confidence he instills in them.

Star running back Josh Jacobs expressed his excitement, saying, “Coach Pierce is one of us. He knows what it takes to win, and he’s been there. He’s brought a swagger back to this team that we haven’t had in years.”

Wide receiver Davante Adams echoed the sentiment, stating, “He’s real, and that’s what we need. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything, and he believes in us. This decision is a game-changer for the future of this team.”

A Turning Point for the Franchise

The Raiders have long been a team defined by their proud history and iconic moments, but recent years have been turbulent. Under Pierce, however, the team has shown flashes of its former glory. The Raiders have played with renewed intensity, earning hard-fought wins and regaining the respect of their opponents.

NFL analysts have taken notice as well. Many believe that Davis’s decision to secure Pierce as the head coach signals a commitment to stability and long-term growth. “Antonio Pierce has all the tools to succeed in this role,” noted one commentator. “He’s a player’s coach, but he’s also a strategist. The Raiders are finally building something special.”

Fan Reaction: Overwhelming Joy

Raiders fans, known for their unwavering loyalty, have flooded social media with messages of support and excitement. Hashtags like #PierceEra and #RaiderNation are trending as fans share their hopes for the team’s future.

“I’ve been waiting for this kind of leadership for years,” one fan tweeted. “Antonio Pierce is the guy who’s going to take us back to the top.”

Even former Raiders legends chimed in to express their approval. Hall of Famer Charles Woodson called the announcement “the best news for the Raiders in a long time,” while others highlighted Pierce’s ability to connect the franchise’s storied past with its bright future.

Looking Ahead

With Pierce now firmly at the helm, the Raiders are poised to make a statement in the coming seasons. Davis hinted at plans for further strengthening the roster and creating a system that amplifies Pierce’s coaching philosophy.

“Antonio has a vision for this team, and we’re going to give him the tools to make it a reality,” Davis said.

As the Raiders prepare for the remainder of the season and beyond, one thing is clear: the Raider Nation has found a leader who truly understands what it means to wear the silver and black. For a franchise that thrives on unity and pride, Antonio Pierce’s appointment as head coach represents a new era—one filled with hope, determination, and a relentless pursuit of greatness.

The Raider Nation has every reason to celebrate. The future is bright in Las Vegas, and under Antonio Pierce, the sky’s the limit.

Rob Gronkowski Sends Strong Message on Raiders TE Brock Bowers

“He should be Rookie Offensive Player of the Year. Don’t give it to a quarterback…….Rob Gronkowski Sends Strong Message on Raiders TE Brock Bowers

Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers has cemented himself as not only the greatest rookie tight end in NFL history, but one of the best rookie pass catchers overall. In Week 18, he broke Mike Ditka’s record for most receiving yards by a rookie tight end and also broke Puka Nacua’s record for most receptions by a rookie.

Bowers is a man of few words and simply likes to play football. If he keeps up with the elite play, he’ll be a Hall of Famer one day. One former player who has been very impressed with Bowers is legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski.

He thinks that Bowers is just scratching the surface of the records he’s going to break throughout his career.

“He’s the complete package,” Gronkowski said on the Dec. 31 episode of “Up & Adams.” “He’s the only thing that’s been steady on the Las Vegas Raiders offense throughout the whole year, and he’s done it with about three different quarterbacks throwing him the ball, which is just incredible. He should be Rookie Offensive Player of the Year. Don’t give it to a quarterback; he deserves it.

“100-something catches as just a rookie. If he continues this pace, he’s going to shatter every single tight-end record out there. Possibly some receiving records as well. The only one that he may not touch is my record, which is the most touchdowns scored by a tight end in a single season, which is 17 receptions and one rushing.”

Brock Bowers Named to Pro Bowl

Even though he’s just a rookie, there’s an argument that Bowers is already the best tight end in the NFL. He’s getting a ton of love as a rookie and fans have noticed. It was revealed that Bowers has been named to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games along with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Defensive end Maxx Crosby was the only other Raider named to the AFC’s Pro Bowl team. This is likely not the last honor Bowers will receive. He could be in line to be named to an All-Pro team and is in contention to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Bowers Earns Praise From Teammates

The Raiders haven’t had much success with their first-round picks in recent years. It was a surprise when the team selected Bowers as tight end wasn’t a need but he’s proving that drafting the best player available is a winning strategy.

He’s still early in his career but he’s impressive veteran teammates like Ameer Abdullah.

“He handles the spotlight very well, never gets too high or too low,” Abdullah said following the Raiders’ Week 17 win over the New Orleans Saints. “He has the same routine every day — I’ve actually learned a lot from Brock being here. He just brings his lunch to work and is never satisfied.”

Bowers may just be scratching the surface with how good he can be. He’s only 22 and the Raiders have had wildly inconsistent quarterback play this season. If the team finds more stability on the offensive side of the ball, there’s no telling how big Bowers’ stats could be.
