“So much disrespect” Man United fans genuinely can’t believe what Gary Neville said about Man united player during Forest match

Manchester United fans genuinely can’t believe what Gary Neville said about Antony during commentary.

Antony has endured another frustrating outing so far against Nottingham Forest as he’s yet to make an impression on the right wing.

And as the first half came to a close, Neville advised the Brazilian winger to ‘simplify’ his game as he compared him to a Premier League legend.

“Antony has to develop a pattern in his game so his teammates can know what to expect,” he said on Sky Sports. “He has to create parts of his game that are consistent.”

The former Manchester United captain continued to dissect Antony’s game as he referenced ex-Leicester City and Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez.

“Antony can become a Riyad Mahrez type of player,” he added on commentary.

But fans online couldn’t believe Neville compared Antony to Mahrez, who won five Premier League titles during his prolific spell in England.

One X user wrote: “Did Gary Neville never watch Mahrez? He was in a different galaxy of talent compared to Antony.”

A second tweeted: “Hahahaha just heard Gary Neville say Antony could be a Riyad Mahrez type player i’ve never heard so much disrespect.”

A third added: “Gary Neville being very disrespectful speaking Mahrez & Antony in the same sentence.”

A fourth said: “Did Gary Neville really just say that Antony could become a Riyad Mahrez type player.”

A fifth commented: “Gary Neville just said Antony could become a Mahrez type player. Sky Sports have to sack him at half time.”

Another wrote: “Gary Neville saying ‘Antony is never going to become one of the best players in the world but could become a Riyadh Mahrez type playe’ is so disrespectful to Mahrez.”

Antony, who cost Man United £85 million, has been unable to justify his hefty price tag since arriving at Old Trafford.

He’s managed just eight goals in 64 games in all competitions and has yet to score this campaign.

“They want me out of the club but i am determined to stay at Man United and fight for his place with £375k-a-week midfielder to REJECT any offers to move to Turkey

“They want me out of the club but i am determined to stay at Man United and fight for his place with £375k-a-week midfielder to REJECT any offers to move to Turkey

Casemiro is determined to fight for his place at Manchester United and will reject any offers to sign for Galatasaray before the transfer window closes in Turkey next week.

The Istanbul club are weighing up a move for the Brazil midfielder who was substituted at half-time in United’s defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday after his mistakes led to two goals by Luis Diaz

It was the latest setback for Casemiro whose form has dipped since an outstanding first season at United following his £70million move from Real Madrid in 2022.

The 32-year-old has been left out of Brazil’s squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.

His place at United is under threat from Manuel Ugarte after the Uruguayan arrived in a £50.5millon deal from Paris Saint-Germain last week, but it’s understood that Casemiro has no interest in leaving Old Trafford at the moment.

He is the club’s top earner on £375,000-a-week and it’s unlikely Galatasaray, who have until a week on Friday to make a move before the Turkish deadline, could afford his wages.

United are expecting Casemiro back in training after the international break to prepare for their next game against Southampton.

The club have been open to offers for the five-time Champions League winner, and former football director John Murtough travelled to Saudi Arabia in December to gauge the level of interest.

However, there were no bids before the Saudi Pro League window closed on Monday night.

VAR told they made ‘baffling’ error during Liverpool’s win over Man United as former striker hits out at decision at Old Trafford

The VAR for Liverpool’s 3-0 dismantling of Man United on Sunday has been told that they made a ‘baffling’ mistake.

New Liverpool manager Arne Slot made it three wins from three as his side cruised to a 3-0 victory at Old Trafford.

Luis  Diaz netted twice before Mo Salah sealed the three points with a crisp finish as Erik ten Hag found himself back under huge pressure once again.

And it could have been more if an incident during the second half had been reviewed.

United new boy Noussair Mazraoui appeared to catch Cody Gakpo from behind in the area but referee Anthony Taylor played the advantage which resulted in Darwin Nunez shooting wide.

Replays showed the challenge was made in the area and former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor believes VAR should have stepped in to award the penalty.

VAR John Brooks and assistant Harry Lennard did not review it and Mellor was left baffled

He tweeted two images to justify his thoughts, writing: ‘referee sees foul on Gakpo and indicates advantage… Nunez shoots wide,’ Mellor wrote.

‘Contact was inside the area… so why hasn’t VAR told him he was right and contact in area so should be a pen? Baffling decision.’

The decision had little impact on the result with United well beaten by their rivals on the day.

World Cup-winning coach tipped to take over Manchester United Coaching job the looming sack of Erik ten Hag

Manchester United followed up their last-minute loss against Brighton with a 0-3 defeat at the hands of fierce rivals Liverpool, thereby heaping pressure on Erik ten Hag heading into the season’s first international break.

The Dutchman was dangerously close to the sack last season following the club’s poor Premier League form which saw them record their worst-ever finish in the competition.

However, a surprise FA Cup final triumph against Manchester City meant INEOS kept their faith in the former Ajax coach and even backed him considerably in the summer window.

But that meant Ten Hag had to deliver this season but it has been a poor start yet again with the Red Devils losing thrice in four games this season, including the Community Shield.

The thrashing at the hands of Arne Slot’s team has meant gossip mills have been awash with reports linking numerous managers with the Old Trafford hotseat should the British petrochemicals giants decide to pull the plug.

Former England manager Gareth Southgate was mentioned as an option, just like in the summer, but he would not be a popular choice among the fanbase.

Thomas Tuchel’s name has been floated with the German currently on a sabbatical after a difficult spell at Bayern Munich.

Fichajes have thrown a surprising name into the hat — former Germany national team manager Joachim Low. The German has been on a break since leaving his post in 2021.

The World Cup winning manager’s last club job was 20 years ago so it is strange to see his name being discussed in the corridors of power at INEOS.

There is also Graham Potter, who was another INEOS favourite before the board ultimately decided to keep Ten Hag at the helm instead of opting for a change.

“Manchester United are still struggling to find their way under Erik Ten Hag, and patience at Old Trafford appears to be wearing thin.

“Despite keeping his job after a rocky last season, the Dutch manager has failed to dispel doubts at the start of the season, and rumours of his possible dismissal are beginning to gather strength.

“The club’s board, aware of the magnitude of the challenges facing a club of Manchester United ‘s stature, is already reportedly exploring alternatives to replace Ten Hag in case results do not improve in the coming days.

“The names of Graham Potter, Joachim Low and Thomas Tuchel have begun to circulate as possible successors. The three coaches, currently without a team, have demonstrated in the past that they have the ability to lead elite teams, and would be willing to take on the challenge of revitalizing a team that seems lost in its own labyrinth.”

Being free to acquire makes sense from a financial standpoint but Low has limited experience as a manager at club level and has been out of a job for a while now.

His arrival seems unlikely especially with Ruud van Nistelrooy also waiting in the wings. It will be interesting to see whether the club can perform upon the resumption of the season or if Ten Hag will become the first big managerial casualty of the season.
