A Brazilian masterclass from Casemiro, Antony and substitute Fred sent Manchester United on their way to a convincing 3-1 win over Reading and a spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Two goals from Casemiro in the space of four second-half minutes put them on their way before Fred sealed victory on a night where Antony played his best game in a United shirt.

Reading had an even tougher mountain to climb after veteran striker Andy Carroll was sent off on 65 minutes, and despite a goal from substitute Amadou Mbengue shortly after that, it proved to be a just a consolation.

BREAKING: Aaron Rodgers Willing to Play for 4 Teams in 2025 as Jets Future in doubt

BREAKING: Aaron Rodgers Willing to Play for 4 Teams in 2025 as Jets Future in doubt

The NFL future of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been one of the most-discussed topics of the 2024 season.

Acquired two seasons ago as the believed missing piece of a potential Super Bowl roster, Rodgers’ tenure with the Jets has been anything but fruitful.

After suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in the 2023 season opener, Rodgers rebounded with a tumultuous 2024, leading the Jets to a 4-12 record as his head coach (Robert Saleh) and general manager (Joe Douglas) were both fired midseason.

And to top it off, multiple reports have indicated if the Jets bring Rodgers back next season, superstar receiver Garrett Wilson will request a trade, making it highly unlikely that Rodgers will be in a green-and-white uniform in 2025.

Rodgers himself has been noncommittal about his playing future, speaking in ominous hypotheticals about what his plans are next year, but according to a report from the Daily Mail, there are four teams that Rodgers would be willing to play for — the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders or Tennessee Titans.

“If the Jets keep him around, he will try to right the ship and give it one last go, but he believes he would be better used and be a better fit in Cleveland, Indianapolis or Tennessee, and he also would be interested in heading to Las Vegas,” the source said. “That is where his mindset is at as he wants to play again, and he doesn’t believe that the Jets are the team that will take him to the promised land.”

All four of those teams are believed to be in the market for a QB next season.

After restructuring Deshaun Watson’s contract, the Browns seemingly plan to keep him around but given how poorly he’s performed in Cleveland (9-10 record, 177.1 yards per game, 19 touchdowns, 12 interceptions), the Browns may want to bring in some competition given stars like Myles Garrett and more have stated if the Browns start a rebuild they want out.

Vegas and Tennessee are no surprises either as both are likely ready to move on from Aidan O’Connell and Will Levis, respectively, and Rodgers already owns a home in Williamson County (approximately 25 minutes outside of Nashville), so it’s easy to connect the dots with the Titans.

The Colts are the only wild card as they have remained steadfast in their commitment to former No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson. Perhaps Indy could opt for a year of Rodgers starting with Richardson, 22, sitting and learning behind him on the bench.

“Aaron wants to play again and finish his career on his own terms,” the source continued. “And though he has mentioned he would like to continue playing with the Jets, he would love to be released and give it another go with another team.

“…It has obviously not worked with the Jets and there is no reason to believe that it would work next year, a third year with the Jets is not going to be a charm and both the team and Aaron will likely move on from each other.”

BREAKING: Jets Insider Calls Aaron Rodgers Return ‘Surprising’

There likely will be rumors and speculation about the future of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers until the day he announces whether or not he is playing in 2025.

Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer coming off a season in which he tossed 28 touchdowns and had 11 interceptions. Those numbers sound pretty good, but the team overall didn’t live up to expectations and Rodgers certainly played a role in that.

There already have been a lot of questions about his future. The first thing that needs to be determined is whether or not he is hanging up his cleats. If Rodgers does continue his career, will the Jets want him back? Everything seems to be on the table right now.

The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt weighed in on the discussion and said a return would be “surprising.”

“The Jets can take their time if they really want to, but a decision seemingly won’t come at least until Johnson picks a general manager and/or head coach,” Rosenblatt said.

“(Woody Johnson) and Jets brass have been saying that the new GM and head coach will get to make the call on Rodgers, though it’s difficult to believe that the Jets owner was O.K. with the shots Rodgers has been taking at him both in press conferences and in various media appearances.

Ultimately, it would be surprising if Rodgers remains a Jet.”

Rosenblatt is a senior writer for The Athletic covering the Jets. If he thinks a return would be surprising, that could be a good indication of what will happen. There may not be many better options out there, though.

First, Rodgers has to decide whether or not he’s going to play in 2025. Then, we will find out if the Jets want him.

Steelers WR George Pickens Threw Massive Shade At His Teammates All But Confirming He’s Done In Pittsburgh Following Embarrassing Playoff Loss To Ravens….

Steelers WR George Pickens Threw Massive Shade At His Teammates All But Confirming He’s Done In Pittsburgh Following Embarrassing Playoff Loss To Ravens….

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens wrapped up the 2024 season with a reflective and somewhat enigmatic post-game press conference following his team’s disappointing Wild Card Round loss to their bitter rivals, the Baltimore Ravens. In what has become an all-too-familiar storyline for Steelers fans, the team fell short in the postseason, losing 28-14 and extending their playoff victory drought to eight years.

For Pickens, the third-year standout, the defeat marked another chapter in his quest for postseason success. Despite the team’s shortcomings, he was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise forgettable performance. Pickens recorded five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his ability to make an impact even in high-pressure situations. However, his individual brilliance wasn’t enough to overcome the Steelers’ broader struggles.

Pittsburgh’s offense was hampered by a completely ineffective ground game, managing a paltry 29 rushing yards on just 11 carries. Meanwhile, the T.J. Watt-led defense, often the backbone of this team, faltered when it mattered most, allowing the Ravens to dictate the pace of the game. The loss underscored the issues that have plagued head coach Mike Tomlin’s squad in recent years—an inability to rise to the occasion in postseason play.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Pickens struck a tone of cautious optimism, acknowledging that he had seen “signs of growth” from the offense throughout the season. Yet, when pressed on whether this gave him hope for the future, his response was a cryptic one-word answer, leaving many to speculate about his true feelings.

This latest loss marked Pittsburgh’s sixth consecutive postseason defeat, with their last playoff win dating all the way back to the 2016 Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs. For a franchise steeped in tradition and accustomed to success, the prolonged dry spell has been both uncharacteristic and frustrating.

The Steelers Must Build Around George Pickens

As the offseason begins, one thing is clear: the Steelers need to do more to support their young star receiver. George Pickens has proven himself to be a dynamic playmaker, but the lack of a reliable No. 2 option in the passing game continues to hinder the offense. Opposing defenses can focus their attention on Pickens, knowing the Steelers lack another consistent receiving threat to take the pressure off him.

While critics have pointed fingers at the offensive line or quarterback Russell Wilson, the reality is that Pittsburgh’s issues run deeper. Without a legitimate second wide receiver to stretch the field and draw coverage away from Pickens, the offense remains one-dimensional. Teams that thrive in today’s NFL boast multiple weapons in the passing game, and the Steelers must follow suit if they hope to return to postseason relevance.

Addressing the Ground Game and Defensive Woes

In addition to bolstering the receiving corps, Pittsburgh must also address their non-existent ground game. Averaging less than three yards per carry in a playoff game is simply unacceptable for a team that prides itself on physical, hard-nosed football. The Steelers must evaluate their offensive line and backfield options to ensure they can establish a more balanced attack moving forward.

On the defensive side, questions will be raised about the unit’s inability to rise to the occasion. While T.J. Watt remains one of the league’s premier pass-rushers, the defense as a whole looked outmatched against Baltimore. Whether through the draft, free agency, or trades, the Steelers need to reinforce a unit that has historically been the team’s backbone.

Looking Ahead

George Pickens’ third NFL season may not have ended the way he had hoped, but his growth as a player provides a glimmer of hope for the Steelers’ future. With the right additions and adjustments, Pittsburgh has the potential to break free from its playoff slump and re-establish itself as a contender in the AFC. For now, however, the onus is on the front office to build a more complete team around its emerging star.

As Pickens himself alluded to, there are signs of progress. But without meaningful changes, those signs will remain little more than unfulfilled potential.
