Confirmed: Manchester United Now target Surprise Move for £48K P/W Player Seen as Luke Shaw Replacement – He Can Leave Current Club

Lyall Thomas, of Sky Sports, has reported that Manchester United are targeting a replacement for the injured left-back Luke Shaw. One name United have identified is reportedly Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon.

Interest In Sergio Reguilon

Thomas mentions that the Red Devils were “looking” at the Spanish left-back, who reportedly earns 48k per week at Spurs.

He is an option for the Manchester outfit to sign, along with other unspecified defenders who Erik ten Hag’s club have begun to consider as a possible replacement for Shaw.

Thomas also mentions that Fulham are interested in the Spaniard but noted that the Cottagers prefer Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne. The 26-year-old Reguilon “can leave Tottenham before the deadline.”

When the then 23-year-old was still at The Santiago Bernabéu, and it was known that there was an impending exit, the Red Devils were one of the teams rumoured to be offering him a fresh start.

French coach Zinedine Zidane preferred other left-backs to Reguilon, but a move to Tottenham was secured despite the interest from United.

Ten Hag’s squad have been rocked by more than just the Shaw injury.

Star centre-back Raphael Varane went off at half-time during their come-from-behind victory over Nottingham Forest. The Dutchman insists that the French defender’s injury is nothing to worry about, but the addition of Reguilon would be well-timed.

The clubs biggest signing this year has been that of Danish attacker Rasmus Hojlund. Bought from Serie A outfit Atalanta, at 20-years-old he promises to be a future star if he continues to develop. Mason Mount and Andre Onana are two other deals that United have completed this summer.

Club agree deal with Man Utd over signing £50m ‘little genius’ this summer

Manchester United will be looking to sell a host of players this summer in order to fund a rebuild, now contact has been made over one.

The weaknesses within Manchester United‘s squad are pretty obvious right now, and a strong summer transfer window will be pivotal in overhauling the squad.

With at least four positions needing heavy recruitment, it’s also thought that departures will be on the cards in order to fund the signings.

Already it seems like Raphael Varane who is certainly gone, along with Anthony Martial, Casemiro and more will be either released or sold. Now one player that United are keen to see leave Old Trafford has had an approach.

Despite an impressive 10-goal campaign for Getafe in La Liga, Mason Greenwood is thought to have no way back at United, which makes a permanent sale this summer imminent.

Now, The Athletic has reported that Napoli has made contact with United over a possible deal to sign the £50m valued forward in the upcoming transfer window.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to the likes of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in recent weeks and is thought to have quite a few options this summer.

One of which is to remain at Getafe on loan for another year, with his manager there Jose Bordalas keen for talks over his future.

There is also a chance that he sees his contract extended at United, with the club having an option for an extra year, something which would be seen as a sensible move.

With Greenwood being lauded as being a ‘little genius’ for his performances this season in Spain, United will want a hefty fee.

But this isn’t the only reason, as Old Trafford eyes are already firmly fixed on strengthening the right wing this summer.

With Antony out of favour and another loan or sale likely for Jadon Sancho as well, Michael Olise could well become a realistic proposition for the club.

This would see Olise and Amad Diallo as the two options fighting it out for the starting berth at United on the right. Not too bad, considering what we’ve had the past 18 months.

Personal terms Agreed: Man Utd interested in signing £60m star Forward this summer

Personal terms Agreed: Man Utd interested in signing £60m star Forward this summer

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Manchester United are in the running to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise during this summer’s transfer window.

Olise is considered as one of the best young wingers in the Premier League and he has had another impressive season despite spending half of the campaign on the sidelines with injuries.

Ornstein has now revealed that United are interested in signing the former Reading man, who has a £60 million release clause in his contract. However, he added that a deal won’t be straightforward.

Micheal Olise

There is a complicated mechanism when it comes to the release clause and it won’t be easy for any club to sign him. A transfer could depend on the green light from the player as well as Palace.

The right-wing has been a problematic position for United for some period of time. The Red Devils signed Jadon Sancho few years ago to provide a solution, but he is currently out of favour under manager Erik ten Hag.

Man United spent big on Antony in the summer of 2022, but he has also struggled to live up to the expectations. Amad Diallo has shown promise in recent games, but ten Hag may want another marquee addition.

Olise would be a quality signing, having accumulated 10 goals and 5 assists from 18 league games this season. He has missed half of the campaign with hamstring issues, but continues to be highly-rated among elite clubs.

The Frenchman has not earned his maiden call-up for the Euros, but that could be a good thing. He could use the summer break to fully recover. Prior to this season, Olise missed only 2 games with injuries in his career.

United are currently lacking a genuine attacking threat from the right wing. Olise would provide that with his fantastic dribbling, close ball control and ability to create chances with quality crosses into the box.

The Red Devils won’t be alone in the race for his signature, but the hierarchy should be positive over signing him. Olise is reportedly an avid United fan which should put them in pole position to secure his services.

Man Utd set eyes on signing highly rated Premier league forward this summer

Manchester United are reportedly considering signing Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins this summer, as per TalkSPORT.

After moving to Villa Park from Brentford back in 2020, the 28-year-old has established himself as a key player for the West Midlands club over the last few years.

The Englishman has been enjoying a stellar campaign this term, scoring 19 goals and registering 13 assists in 36 Premier League appearances.

In addition, he has now guided his team to qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top-four this season.

Ollie Watkins

According to the report by TalkSPORT, Man Utd are planning to sign a new proven striker to reinforce the frontline and support Rasmus Hojlund next season and have identified Watkins as an ideal option.

However, the report claims that purchasing the 28-year-old won’t be easy for the Red Devils as Villa are in Europe’s elite club competition next season and United aren’t. In addition, the striker still has four years left in his current contract having recently signed an extension with the Villans.

So, it is likely that United will have to submit a lucrative proposal to persuade Aston Villa to cash-in on their star man. TalkSPORT also states that Man Utd could trim down their wage bill by selling some stars to raise funds in order to sign Watkins this summer.

Watkins – valued at around £56m by Transfermarkt – is a highly talented striker and has already showcased his qualities in the Premier League in recent times. So, he could be a great coup for Man Utd if they purchase him.

However, the Red Devils’ new minority shareholder, Sir Jim Ratcliffe – who is also set to look after the football side of the proceedings at Old Trafford – has earlier hinted that United would be looking to sign young talents from now on with a view to the long-term future rather than spending big on established superstars.

So, it is going to be interesting to see whether the record Premier League champions eventually opt to make a concrete approach to secure Watkins’ signature in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce their attacking department.
