Done Deal: Man United wraps up first summer signing as scouting of another Napoli star begins
Manchester United hope to complete the signing of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer after convincing his teammate Kim Min-jae to make the switch to Old Trafford
Napoli defender Kim Min-jae has decided to join Manchester United this summer and negotiations between the clubs also include a move for in-demand striker Victor Osimhen.
Kim, 26, has been linked with a summer switch to Old Trafford for months despite only moving to Naples last year.
The South Korean international enjoyed a tremendous campaign as he starred in the club’s remarkable Serie A title-winning campaign, but his contract is believed to contain a €50million (£43m) release clause.
United have earmarked the defensive star as a key summer target and the player has been convinced on a move. It comes after Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag insisted that players are now desperate to move to United despite some hesitancy last summer when he took the job.

Talks between the two clubs for Kim are complimenting that of Osimhen, Napoli’s star striker who United are also keen on signing. The Red Devils first outlined their interest to the club last August and Napoli are open to a sale for the right price this summer.
United scouts attended Napoli’s Champions League clash against Milan last month, when the Nigerian found the net but it was not enough for his side to progress in Europe but Osimhen’s goals fired the Italian club to their first league title in 33 years. The 24-year-old is highly regard by United transfer chiefs and he heads the club’s striking shortlist.
A report in Naples-based Il Mattino affirms that United are in pole position to land Osimhen this summer with their interest accelerating due to Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain monitoring the Nigerian’s situation.
Chelsea sent scouts to watch him in Sunday’s two-goal loss at Monza. The adds that the same figures involved in convincing Kim to join United are attempting to make the Osimhen deal a reality.
Indeed, the report adds that figures at Napoli believes that Osimhen is distracted by the interest from Premier League clubs.
There is a growing sense that Napoli will cash-in on the player this summer, and only should they receive an offer which they see as impossible to refuse.

Osimhen spoke in March that it would be his “dream” to play in the Premier League as links with him moving to Old Trafford intensified. United have subsequently sent scouts to monitor the striker’s play.
The striker said: “I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world is an amazing feeling for me. A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I’m in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A.
“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League someday but as I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well.”

Manchester United considering €70m swoop for PSG striker in January to boost forward – Reports

Manchester United considering €70m swoop for PSG striker in January to boost forward – Reports
According to reports from CaughtOffside, Manchester United are understood to have a genuine interest in the transfer of Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, though he is not expected to be available this January.
CaughtOffside is aware of Kolo Muani was previously signed by PSG for a hefty sum of money—up to €95 million—while Man United is believed to value the France international at closer to €70 million as they search for upfront reinforcements.
Kolo Muani might be a good fit for the Red Devils, even though he hasn’t quite displayed his finest play in a PSG jersey.
After Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s setbacks at Old Trafford, the team could definitely use a more seasoned and tested alternative up front.
The 25-year-old remains highly regarded by his current club, however, and sources have indicated there is little chance of him being sold this winter, even if the situation could perhaps be looked at again by next summer.
United have invested in the future by bringing in two young forwards in Hojlund and Zirkzee in the last two summers, so it might perhaps be a bit of a surprise to see the club spending big on yet another striker.
Still, one has to wonder how much more time Hojlund in particular will be given as he’s not made much of an impact in over a year in Manchester now, so there could be a case for bringing in Kolo Muani as an upgrade.
At the same time, if PSG aren’t keen to sell, then this could potentially mean paying a lot of money to make them change their minds, and that might be seen as a bit of a risk, considering that the former Eintracht Frankfurt man isn’t in the best form right now.

Man United tipped to sign Outstanding €80m PSG Playmaker ahead of Manchester City as Ruud Van Nistelrooy backs him to shine – Reports
It seems that Manchester United isn’t giving up on the prospect of signing RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons, even though no agreement was struck during the most recent transfer window.
Man United showed a keen interest in the Dutch attacker for a significant portion of the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, who stated that the club became even more interested in Simons following his Dutch team’s performance at Euro 2024.
In the end, a deal remained far off, even though Simons made a suggestion that he would return to Leipzig on another Paris Saint-Germain loan.
This advice came to pass in July when he agreed to join a new one-year loan with Leipzig.
Even as he returns to Germany, however, United have not given up on their pursuit of the Dutch forward.

Christian Falk, the head of football at the BILD Group, revealed that United may just manage to hijack a potential deal for Simons being formulated by bitter rivals Manchester City.
“United and Liverpool were interested in the player historically, but also Manchester City are in the race and he would be a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola’s system,” Falk noted. He also revealed why United may be ahead in the race to sign Simons.
“Liverpool have a coach who can speak the same language. There’s a Dutch coach also present at Manchester United. So, these offer huge chances for either club,” he explained, suggesting that Simons would appreciate playing under a coach who speaks the same language.
For United, Simons is a young, versatile player who could significantly bolster their attacking options over the long-term future.
It’s no secret that Erik ten Hag is a fan of the Dutch rising star, praising Simons for his performance against England in the Euro 2024 semifinals.
“I enjoyed Xavi Simons in that game. The drive he has, the passion with which he conquers balls and recognises situations are top,” Ten Hag stated. “His enormous drive as well. That is almost un-Dutch. I think you can see that he was trained abroad. He almost has a southern European doggedness in his game.”
Of course, Simons’ impressive performances extend beyond his appearances for the Netherlands. He was a key player for Leipzig last season, scoring eight goals and providing 13 assists in 32 Bundesliga games last season.
Although Simons’ market value is €80 million, according to Transfermarkt, United may just manage to afford him comfortably should they do adequate financial planning before bidding on the player once his loan deal expires

Man United handed fresh Zinedine Zidane boost as new transfer claim emerges after Sir Jim Ratcliffe meeting -Report

Man United handed fresh Zinedine Zidane boost as new transfer claim emerges after Sir Jim Ratcliffe meeting -Report
Manchester United is considering a number of options to replace Erik ten Hag, whose career at Old Trafford is in jeopardy.
One of those names is Zinedine Zidane. Zinedine Zidane’s potential appointment to Manchester United has increased due to rumors that the Frenchman will take Erik ten Hag’s place.
With just two victories in their first seven games of the new season, the Red Devils have had an awful start to the season.
Ten Hag is said to have no more than a game or two to turn things around and start putting out results because they are currently five points above the relegation zone in the table and ranked 14th.
Should the axe swing, the likes of Zidane, Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate could be parachuted in to replace the Dutchman. United have a long-standing interest in Zidane, who has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, and while the 52-year-old has rebuffed their advances in the past, he recently declared an interest in returning to the dugout.

United aren’t the only ones after Zidane’s signature. The French FA are reportedly eyeing the former Real Madrid midfielder up as a potential replacement for France manager Didier Deschamps. However, according to French outlet RMC, Deschamps isn’t planning to step down any time soon.
It’s also understood that the 55-year-old, who has won the World Cup as both a player and a manager, is desperate to prevent Zidane from succeeding him amid fears his former team-mate will sweep away his legacy.
As such, United may have a free shot at Zizou should they part ways with Ten Hag in the coming weeks.
It comes following news that United’s top brass, including owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, discussed the club’s ongoing on-field problems, as well as potential managerial appointments, during a seven-hour crisis meeting in London on Tuesday.
No final decision was made on whether to stick or twist with Ten Hag, but former Chelsea boss Tuchel was reportedly a major talking point during the meeting.
In the summer, Ratcliffe held talks with Tuchel over a possible move to Old Trafford, but no agreement was reached. The German has been out of work since leaving Bayern Munich by mutual consent at the end of last season.
It’s understood Tuchel is keen to work in England again, though sources close to the coach claim he hasn’t been contacted by United recently. He’s also in contention for the England national team job, with the FA currently searching for Southgate’s long-term replacement.
Zidane has had something of an unorthodox managerial career. He started out as head coach of Real Madrid B in 2014 before being appointed manager of the senior team in 2016. He went on to win three Champions Leagues on the trot, as well as the La Liga title in 2017, before resigning out of the blue in 2018.
Ten months later, he returned to the Bernabeu and led the club to another La Liga title in 2020. But after ending the 2020/21 season without winning a major trophy, he resigned for the second time.

Manchester city ready to rival Man United and Liverpool for exciting potential €80m PSG Star Midfielder transfer – Reports
Liverpool and Manchester United could reportedly be set to face competition from Manchester City for the transfer of RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.
The Netherlands international has long had the appearance of one of the most promising young players in world football, but he has failed to break through into Paris Saint-Germain’s starting lineup, spending time on loan at Leipzig.
Nevertheless, it’s likely that Simons will draw attention from larger teams in the future, and Manchester City is currently very much eyeing him, according to a report from the Spanish publication Fichajes.
This comes after a recent report from Voetbal Primeur, which claimed that Simons, who is estimated to be worth €80 million, may get offers from teams like Liverpool and Manchester United. Will Xavi Simons be joining Manchester United, Manchester City, or Liverpool?
City might do well to bring in someone like Simons as a long-term replacement for ageing playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, and he’d surely be tempted by Pep Guardiola’s highly successful project.
Still, it could also be a good move for Simons to link up with fellow Dutchman Arne Slot, who is doing a superb job as Liverpool manager so far, putting the Reds firmly back into contention for major trophies.
At this moment in time, United probably doesn’t look like the best move, even if the Red Devils remain a big name in world football, and a club with a proud history.
There would be a lot of pressure on Simons to be the main man at United and help revive their fortunes, so he’d surely do better to choose Liverpool or City for a better playing environment
