OH NO!! Philips Billings gives Bournemouth the lead against Arsenal

THIS IS INCREDIBLE BUT THE VISITORS HAVE THE LEAD!

It’s a ball into the box that is just left and Billing ghosts in to slam the ball home from close range inside the first ten seconds.

Rasmus Hojlund sits out of training for Denmark ahead of Nations League game against Switzerland

Manchester United’s poor start to the new season has largely been down to the team’s profligacy in front of goal.

Being without first choice striker Rasmus Hojlund hasn’t helped the cause after the Dane picked up an injury in the pre-season tour of the U.S.

Hojlund is working his way back to fitness and has featured in United’s last handful of games but is yet to complete 90 minutes this term.

However, the 21-year-old has been summoned for international duty and featured briefly for Denmark in the 1-0 defeat to Spain over the weekend.

Denmark continue their Nations League campaign against Switzerland tomorrow but were without Hojlund in their warm-up session ahead of the game.

As reported by local media, the United man was missing from training but they do believe it’s more likely to protect the player rather than a fresh injury setback.

No official word has come from the Danish camp but it’s expected Hojlund will be available for selection tomorrow.

Erik ten Hag will be desperate for his centre-forward to come through the Swiss encounter unscathed as he faces a huge few weeks to save his job at Old Trafford.

United has mustered up just five goals from their opening seven league games with only Southampton scoring fewer.

Despite scoring on his debut and showing some tidy link-up play, Joshua Zirkzee doesn’t appear to possess the goalscoring nous of an out-and-out number nine.

Getting Hojlund back to full fitness is a must for United, who need to start finding the back of the net to turn their season around.

Brentford visit Old Trafford this coming Saturday and Ten Hag knows it’s crucial Ten Hag collects all three points to ease the growing pressure on his shoulders.

Man Utd’s Manuel Ugarte sends warning over playing out of position – ‘I lack certain things’

Manchester United splashed the cash to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG in the summer transfer window – and the 23-year-old has suggested he isn’t keen on playing in defence

Manchester United star Manuel Ugarte has suggested he should not be played out of position after enduring a difficult night on international duty with Uruguay.

Ugarte started as the middle centre-back as Marcelo Bielsa opted to field a back three against Peru on Saturday night. The World Cup qualifier did not go to plan, with Peru scoring in the 88th minute to claim a 1-0 win in Lima.

United shelled out £50million to sign the 23-year-old from Paris Saint-Germain as a holding midfielder in the summer transfer window. He has been eased into action by Erik ten Hag, starting just one Premier League match so far with the team struggling for consistency.

With fellow summer arrival Leny Yoro still unavailable and Harry Maguire injured, Ten Hag could be tempted to field Ugarte in defence. But the man himself does not sound keen on the idea after his second ever career start at centre-back did not go well.

“It was not a good match,” Ugarte told ESPN. “We did not play well, it was a shame because I still believe that we are much better, but the match was ugly for us. The dressing room was strong before the match, the atmosphere was nice, but little by little we faded and we did not show good things in the match.

“Everyone can play and has the conditions to do so, but many times, when changing players it takes a little [time] to adapt. It is not an excuse either, the team’s performance dropped. We need to go deeper, as we saw against Peru, we have to keep working.

“Honestly, I felt good with the ball, but I lack certain things as a defender. These are things that always enrich a player and we will see what happens on Tuesday.

It was Ugarte who failed to close down Peru’s Quispe, who crossed for Miguel Araujo to head in the winning goal on Saturday. Uruguay will hope for an improved performance when they take on Colombia on Tuesday, needing a result to stay in third, ahead of Brazil, in the South American qualifying group.

Ugarte’s statistics from the Peru game were actually promising. He recorded an 89 per cent passing accuracy, won six out of eight ground duels and three out of five aerial duels. He was also heavily involved in the team’s build-up from the back, having 93 touches of the ball.

In truth, Uruguay’s problems are chiefly at the other end of the pitch, where they managed an expected goals (xG) tally of just 0.36 with Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez quiet.

“I honestly feel responsible,” former Leeds boss Bielsa said. “Because the players we had in the midfield and in the offence, for such a small proportion of goal chances we created in the second half.”

He was the only brilliant player in our mist then but Ten Hag sold Him out of jealousy and that is why we’re still struggling uptill now’, Marcus Rashford criticized Ten Hag Decision for selling £80m Man united player who is now the current best player of His club

Bruno Fernandes has hinted Manchester United senior players struggled to comprehend the decision to sell one of the club’s most promising young players during the summer.

The Red Devils have made a sub-par start to the new campaign, despite significant investment during the transfer window which saw the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Manuel Ugarte join the club.

Ten Hag’s position is again under threat but the Dutchman continues to rely on a core group of youngsters, including the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

Given the Dutchman has been willing to throw inexperienced players into the heat of battle on numerous occasions during his tenure, it came as some surprise that he was willing to let the talented Maxi Oyedele join Legia Warsaw in the close season

The 19-year-old enjoyed a promising spell on loan at Forest Green last term which many, including Fernandes, assumed was a prelude to bigger things.

The United skipper and Oyedele came face-to-face on Saturday as Portugal met Poland in the Nations League as the teenager made his senior international debut.

Oyedele swapped shirts with his former teammate and skipper after the game, a reunion that Fernandes marked with a picture on Instagram accompanied by a caption which read ‘Happy to see you doing great things. You deserve all the best kid’.

Fernandes also spoke about him in his post-match interview, telling TVP: ‘I think that Max was a really good player.

‘I think he has always been one of the players that everyone at the club thought he would be one of the ones coming through the academy and going to the first team because he has great qualities.

‘He’s a great kid, really humble, works a lot, works really hard, another one who is technically really, really good

‘I wish him all the best, he knows he has his qualities so he came to Poland, he’s enjoying his football, that’s the most important thing for him to play a lot of minutes, now he’s in the national team so it’s a big thing for him.’

Oyedele, a midfielder, was a key part of the United side that won the FA Youth Cup two years ago and looked destined to remain part of Ten Hag’s plans when he featured during pre-season.

The Salford-born star, who has a who has a Polish mum and Nigerian dad, was surprisingly deemed surplus to requirements, however, but United’s loss has very much been Legia’s gain.
