(Video) Watch: Arsenal vs Crystal Palace 4-1 Highlights 2023 All Goals

Arsenal now have an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League with just 10 matches to play after their latest convincing victory over struggling Crystal Palace 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners put on an attacking clinic with left winger Gabriel Martinelli creating the breakthrough goal, and right winger Bukayo Saka netting twice. Forward Leandro Trossard dished out another assist to Granit Xhaka, who also got in on the scoring action.

But visiting Palace, who fired their manager just two days before, could have taken the lead with a little bit of luck after Wilfried Zaha hit the post on 11 minutes and watched the rebound bounce off Arsenal’s ‘keeper and out for a corner instead of goal-bound.

Palace, managed in this game by Under-21 boss Paddy McCarthy, clawed their way back to 3-1 at one point, but that was just their sixth goal scored in their last 13 matches. They are now winless in those 13 contests in all competitions, a barren streak that ultimately cost Patrick Vieira his job, and could cost Palace relegation sitting just three points above the bottom three.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are rolling toward their first Premier League title since 2004 and they next get ready to host another relegation battling side, Leeds United, after the FIFA international break on April 1.

NY Jets Aaron Rodgers makes shocking decision on Jets future as he’s focused on dealing with his house amid California fires

NY Jets Aaron Rodgers makes shocking decision on Jets future as he’s focused on dealing with his house amid California fires

The New York Jets quarterback spoke with “The Pat McAfee Show” on Thursday, saying that he’s in a holding pattern for his own future while the team figures out who’ll be running the Jets’ show next season.

“I think everybody understands that it’s going to come down to (the) GM and coach and myself, and whether we all want to do a dance together — or if it’s not in the cards,” Rodgers said.

The 41-year-old signal-caller is coming off a 5-12 season with the Jets one year after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in the 2023 season opener. Things have not gone well for the franchise, which fired head coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas in-season, since Rodgers arrived.

The Jets remain headlong in the process of finding their replacements. Rodgers said he’s had “limited communication” with those who remain the franchise — including owner Woody Johnson — about whether he might want to spend his 21st NFL season with them or not.

“As far as my own decision, I told them I’m going to take some time,” Rodgers said. “They haven’t even made a decision on the GM or a coach yet. Once that happens, then that’ll take us to the next step which is a conversation, I’m assuming, with whoever that individual is.”

BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Jones Appoints Himself as New Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys!

BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Jones Appoints Himself as New Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys!

Cowboys coaching search: Jerry Jones sure to spark wild rumors

In a move that has stunned the entire sports world, Jerry Jones, the 81-year-old owner of the Dallas Cowboys, has officially announced that he will take on the role of head coach for the team. The news comes as a surprise to both fans and NFL analysts, as it marks a significant departure from Jones’ previous role solely as the team’s owner and general manager.

Jones, who has been at the helm of the Cowboys for over three decades, has made no secret of his desire to see the team return to its former glory. Under his leadership, the Cowboys have experienced ups and downs, with the team’s last Super Bowl win dating back to the 1995 season. Despite the franchise’s storied history, the Cowboys have faced years of playoff disappointments and a lack of sustained success. Jones has now made the bold decision to take matters into his own hands.

The announcement has left many speculating about the reasons behind Jones’ decision. Critics point to a series of underwhelming performances and early playoff exits as the driving force behind his new direction. The team’s failure to live up to expectations has led to growing frustration, and some believe Jones is determined to personally oversee a turnaround. By assuming the role of head coach, he can have more direct control over the team’s strategies, gameplans, and overall direction.

While Jones is no stranger to the NFL’s inner workings, having been involved in key decisions throughout his tenure, this new role is a massive departure from his usual responsibilities. He will be managing not only the financial and business aspects of the Cowboys but also the day-to-day football operations. This dual role will place an immense amount of pressure on Jones, who has long been the face of the franchise.

As of now, the Cowboys are preparing for the upcoming season with Jones at the helm, but many questions remain about how his leadership style will mesh with the team’s existing roster and staff. Will his decades of experience and bold decision-making pay off, or will the pressure prove too much for the man who already holds one of the most powerful positions in the NFL?

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones criticizes his GM … Jerry Jones

The Cowboys are expected to make changes to their coaching staff, but it is unclear who will join Jones in this new era of Dallas football. The players, too, are likely to be adjusting to a coach who is also their owner, which could lead to some tension or, alternatively, a renewed sense of commitment to the team’s success.

As Jones steps into this unprecedented role, one thing is certain: the eyes of the NFL world will be on the Dallas Cowboys more than ever before. The future of the franchise, and Jones’ legacy, now hinges on how he leads the team both on and off the field. Will the Cowboys rise to prominence once again, or will this bold experiment end in disappointment?

BREAKING: Aaron Rodgers Willing to Play for 4 Teams in 2025 as Jets Future in doubt

BREAKING: Aaron Rodgers Willing to Play for 4 Teams in 2025 as Jets Future in doubt

The NFL future of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been one of the most-discussed topics of the 2024 season.

Acquired two seasons ago as the believed missing piece of a potential Super Bowl roster, Rodgers’ tenure with the Jets has been anything but fruitful.

After suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in the 2023 season opener, Rodgers rebounded with a tumultuous 2024, leading the Jets to a 4-12 record as his head coach (Robert Saleh) and general manager (Joe Douglas) were both fired midseason.

And to top it off, multiple reports have indicated if the Jets bring Rodgers back next season, superstar receiver Garrett Wilson will request a trade, making it highly unlikely that Rodgers will be in a green-and-white uniform in 2025.

Rodgers himself has been noncommittal about his playing future, speaking in ominous hypotheticals about what his plans are next year, but according to a report from the Daily Mail, there are four teams that Rodgers would be willing to play for — the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders or Tennessee Titans.

“If the Jets keep him around, he will try to right the ship and give it one last go, but he believes he would be better used and be a better fit in Cleveland, Indianapolis or Tennessee, and he also would be interested in heading to Las Vegas,” the source said. “That is where his mindset is at as he wants to play again, and he doesn’t believe that the Jets are the team that will take him to the promised land.”

All four of those teams are believed to be in the market for a QB next season.

After restructuring Deshaun Watson’s contract, the Browns seemingly plan to keep him around but given how poorly he’s performed in Cleveland (9-10 record, 177.1 yards per game, 19 touchdowns, 12 interceptions), the Browns may want to bring in some competition given stars like Myles Garrett and more have stated if the Browns start a rebuild they want out.

Vegas and Tennessee are no surprises either as both are likely ready to move on from Aidan O’Connell and Will Levis, respectively, and Rodgers already owns a home in Williamson County (approximately 25 minutes outside of Nashville), so it’s easy to connect the dots with the Titans.

The Colts are the only wild card as they have remained steadfast in their commitment to former No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson. Perhaps Indy could opt for a year of Rodgers starting with Richardson, 22, sitting and learning behind him on the bench.

“Aaron wants to play again and finish his career on his own terms,” the source continued. “And though he has mentioned he would like to continue playing with the Jets, he would love to be released and give it another go with another team.

“…It has obviously not worked with the Jets and there is no reason to believe that it would work next year, a third year with the Jets is not going to be a charm and both the team and Aaron will likely move on from each other.”

BREAKING: Jets Insider Calls Aaron Rodgers Return ‘Surprising’

There likely will be rumors and speculation about the future of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers until the day he announces whether or not he is playing in 2025.

Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer coming off a season in which he tossed 28 touchdowns and had 11 interceptions. Those numbers sound pretty good, but the team overall didn’t live up to expectations and Rodgers certainly played a role in that.

There already have been a lot of questions about his future. The first thing that needs to be determined is whether or not he is hanging up his cleats. If Rodgers does continue his career, will the Jets want him back? Everything seems to be on the table right now.

The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt weighed in on the discussion and said a return would be “surprising.”

“The Jets can take their time if they really want to, but a decision seemingly won’t come at least until Johnson picks a general manager and/or head coach,” Rosenblatt said.

“(Woody Johnson) and Jets brass have been saying that the new GM and head coach will get to make the call on Rodgers, though it’s difficult to believe that the Jets owner was O.K. with the shots Rodgers has been taking at him both in press conferences and in various media appearances.

Ultimately, it would be surprising if Rodgers remains a Jet.”

Rosenblatt is a senior writer for The Athletic covering the Jets. If he thinks a return would be surprising, that could be a good indication of what will happen. There may not be many better options out there, though.

First, Rodgers has to decide whether or not he’s going to play in 2025. Then, we will find out if the Jets want him.
